My son will be 2 next month and in the last month or so has begun to lie to us. For example, yesterday I came downstairs to him whining/ crying and asked what was wrong (I had heard from upstairs that daddy wouldn't let him watch Dora) and he told me, "daddy push me." I Typically he says this same thing, "daddy push me" every time he doesn't get his way or wants me, not my husband to be with him. I am teacher so am home a lot more with DS then my husband is. Should I have my husband deal with it and stay out to show my son daddy is also in charge? Do time-outs? Help!
Re: 2yr old lies
Your son is so young, he isn't lying to be malicious. He's just learning about the world and (as bad as it sounds) how he can manipulate others. I'd just remind him of the actual truth and move on.
