@wallace323, the impractical side of me says to go to Paris. I really have always wanted to go and B is a French teacher and hasn't been there in about 2 years so she'd love to go back. But if I'm being practical I would just leave work early and cuddle up on the couch with B, who's home sick today.
@Kh826, I LOVE when N sees you for the first time in a while and gives you the largest smile ever. It can be just after a nap or after she's been gone a couple days. It melts my heart. It's actually making me tear up at work right now!
The biggest challenge has definitely been the shared custody. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I'm always afraid I'm going to miss something important in her life. We started shared custody while I was on maternity leave and R, N's father, took her about once a week overnight. Now it's 50/50 though. About 2 months ago it finally got to the point where I wasn't overly emotional every time she left. We have a baby app (that I would completely recommend to any family - even if they weren't split) that we put in all of N's activities. The app stores everything from what she's doing to what she's eating to photos and it's been incredibly helpful on the nights that I don't have her just to know what she's up to.
@ATX, R is really supportive of my relationship with B. B and I actually started seeing each other while I was still married to R. When it all started happening and unfolding R and I sat down and talked about it all. It sounds incredibly strange and I still can't believe it's as civil as it is, but there was never any yelling or hard feelings.
R is also really good with B being in N's life. At first he wasn't sure what to call B in terms of N, and none of really were, but we've all worked out since then. I really thought it would be strange if R ever had to meet B, but they are both really ok with it.
For example, we are all going to be taking N trick-or-treating together.
The way we all work is very abnormal, and I really doubt that many people could do it. I think a lot of it has to do with R and how amazing of a guy he is.
@wishiwaspreggo, Hmmm... I really like the changing seasons of WI so I would say that my favorite thing to do is always something seasonal outdoors. In fall I really like going to the pumpkin patches and apple orchards, but then in the winter I love to go sledding.
It's called BabyConnect. It was a couple bucks each, like $5? But it is amazing! I honestly tell every single person I know about this app! I seriously could write a whole post on this with screenshots and everything!
It's been incredibly handy when going to the doctor when N is sick and the doctor asks how many diapers she's had in the last couple days. I just whip open the app and I can tell at a glance. I can even see how many were BM and how many were wet.
When I was nursing it was really nice too! It has a built in stopwatch timer so I knew how long she nursed and on which side.
I could go on and on about it!
Ok... I'm sorry. I'm sure my excitement over my baby app is not shared by everyone, but I really LOVE it.
