High-Risk Pregnancy

My sweethearts are here!

My two little sweethearts were delivered via C section on Tuesday afternoon. Baby boy (A) came out crying loudly - 4 lbs 14 oz and 18 1/4". His little sister (B) was born crying a minute later - 5 lbs 11 oz and 18 1/2". The previous week's growth scan showed baby boy at 4 lbs 15 oz and baby girl at 5 lbs 8 oz. Pretty close. Both are healthy with no NICU time at 36 weeks gestation.

The C section was surreal. So many people in the operating room! I think there were 10 medical professionals in there. Healing has been painful. You are supposed to move around which hurts terribly, but not overdo it. I had to have extra painkiller shots yesterday bc it was so bad. Hoping that was the worst of it.

Babies are so cute and exhausting. We roomed in the first night, but sent them to the nursery last night. They had a lot of tests to complete and we needed some uninterrupted sleep. They still came back every 3 hours for feeding. It was wonderful. We'll do that again tonight. We should be sent home tomorrow.

Thank you for all your support during these long weeks of bedrest. I wish all of you the best!
