My daughter just turned 6 months last week and up until then she has been sleeping in a roomy bassinet next to my bed. I recently cut out the middle of night feeding and its going great, she is not looking for it. So I decided its time to put her in her crib. I obviously waited to long to do this and now she wants nothing to do with her crib! She was okay for a little bit in it when I tried for the first time the other day but woke up shortly and was hysterical. She would not stay in the crib at all. I am not a fan of CIO out so any advice other than that would help! She has also pretty much been put to bed in the bassinet while sleeping which I think is a problem as well but she has woken up in there and fallen back asleep too without crying.
Re: Any other advice other than CIO??????
Thanks ladies! I do let her play in the crib while I put away the laundry and she does nap in it sometimes though I think I need to be more consistent with napping in it. She also has a musical mobile and another fisher price toy that hooks on the side of the crib. I am also thinking that she likes the coziness of the bassint. There is so much room in the crib maybe she feels uncomfortable in there. I was also afraid to put a blanket in there but one of my friends puts a knitted blanket that is a pattern that has a lot of spaces in it so if they cover there face or something they are not totally covered. I think I am going to try that too.
Thanks! I should have put her in the crib at an earlier age for sure! I definitely regret not doing that! Ya live n learn! I will definitely do that with my next child
