Sleep Question

Do you let your LO sleep with anything in the crib? I have been letting my son sleep with a little blanket (very small...the size of a burp cloth), he needs it to fall asleep and I wake him half the time trying to pry it out of his little fingers. Am I alone?

Re: Sleep Question

  • DS has an Aden blanket and some stuffed cube toys. I like him to have something to play with when he wakes up instead of immediately crying to get out of the crib.

  • I've been giving my son a blanket the size of a receiving blanket for months. He sits, flips, stands (and sometimes I think somersaults :) ) all on his own so I don't worry about him in the slightest. He loves rubbing it on his cheek to fall asleep or sooth himself. I will add that I do also have an angelcare monitor so that is part of my not worrying. I only move it if I think it's too far away from him and i think he won't immediately find it if he wakes.

  • DD has 2 loveys in the crib, one is a doll and one is a bear. I haven't given her a blanket yet, I'll probably start at 1 year with a crocheted blanket.
  • No, because I am afraid that she will cry for it after throwing it out of the crib

  • DS sleeps with an A&A security blanket...or two every night and a stuffed lamb that is smaller then his head. Sometimes I'll lay a crocheted blanket over him if I feel his room is too cool. I honestly haven't been concerned about it for several months now. He stuffs his nose into the breathable bumper anyway to sleep, he likes things close to his face but it has never affected his breathing. I will probably use a thicker blanket once the winter months are here...if I feel his fleece PJ's are not keeping him warm enough.
