I just was hired to work as a nurse on the medical floor at a local hospital. I am so excited but nervous about pumping. I have yet to tell my new employer that I am breast feeding and will need to pump, I figured it was not something to bring up at the interview. I have to go in to sign paperwork next week and I think I'll tell them then. My question is if there are any nurses out there working in a hospital and pumping, How that is working out. I know how busy it gets and sometimes are lucky to get a 20 min lunch! I will be so sad if I am not able to produce enough at work for him. Advice would be great!
Re: Q for moms working In hospital and pumping
I have a time in mind that I want to pump at and I let a co worker know, slip out, back before anyone realizes I'm gone. I pump every 3-4 hours. So 2x at work then right after work before I go home.
I am so glad its working for some of you ladies, hopefully they will be understanding. Thanks for the encouragement!
