Babies: 0 - 3 Months

WWYD?? Definitely need your opinion!

I was just looking at some stuff online about reflux in babies. DS is on Zantac since last week and there has been a little bit of change.  Nothing major.  Well, as I was looking, I came across something called Sandifers Syndrome.  I looked at the symptoms and now I looked it up on youtube and have been watching these babies that have this and they look just like DS!  Do I call the Pedi tomorrow?  What do I say?  "Oh, I diagnosed my child with this?"  Do I videotape the baby to show the Pedi?  Any advice will be helpful!
Finally after 15 months and 2 IUI's we have our gorgeous baby boy! Born Nov. 13th @ 9:09am after 29 hours of labor! 6 lbs 1 oz 20 inches long Lilypie Third Birthday tickers My little angel born Jan 9th, 2010 at 9:54pm after 25 hours of labor! 7lbs 4 oz 20 inches long Lilypie Second Birthday tickers

  • I would definitely bring it up to your pedi if you feel that strongly about it.

  • I would just call and ask what he/she thinks ?I'm sure they get that from parents all of the time. ?Just say "I read about Sandifers Syndrome online and was wondering if you thought our baby had that" and go from there.
  • Can't hurt to question! But, keep in mind, Zantac takes about a good week to start working and sometimes 2 weeks before you see results
  • Sandifer syndrome is basically reflux that looks like a seizure. (The kid arches spasmotically and torques the neck.) The issue with it is when someone goes down the road for diagnosing and treating seizures. Then, it's discovered to be Sandifer's, the reflux is treated, and the kid gets better.

In your case, if the reflux is being addressed, it really doesn't matter if its Sandifer's or not.
