Can we talk about Christmas presents?

I don't know what else to get my kids, and grandparents are asking already.

DD is getting a power wheels car, a little recliner like chair that rocks, an Innotab 3 and some games for it, and a damn Ariel doll she's seen on TV that she can play with in the bath.

DS is getting a 4-wheeler power wheels and the same chair as DD, just different color.

What are y'all getting for your kiddos? I need ideas!

  • DS1 is getting a new Batman car seat, jeans with Spiderman/Batman/Ninja Turtle patches on them, one of those bouncy balls you sit on with the handle and some pre-school appropriate learning things (like things to lace, letter/number flashcards, etc.).  I'm SURE he'll get more but that's what we're planning or have picked up. DS2 isn't getting much because we have every.toy.ever.made. from DS1.  Poor little buddy lol

I guess so. DD is obsessed with Disney characters lately... my worst nightmare.

  • We are probably getting DS one of the pottery barn anywhere chairs. He loves chairs! Santa will get him one of those tricycles that you push type things, we think. We are boring and ask grandparents to do either clothes he needs or college fund $ especially as he's so young. They usually still do some sort of toy too. We only do one gift and one Santa gift bc again we are boring.

  • I think we are getting her a leap pad 2, doll house furniture, and one of those doctor kits. Plus, a few small stocking things like big girl panties, new toothbrush, etc

We also got a big play dollhouse for free from DH's work. Just need to touch up some paint, score!

@elmoali that flashcards and learning stuff is a great idea. DD is good at recognizing numbers, but needs to work on the letters.

DD1 is at the stage where all she really wants is to go pick out her own stuff. She'll likely get gift cards for iTunes and some clothing stores. I always buy her books. I can't think of anything to put under the tree that she'll be really excited about...maybe some Jordans or new boots.

DD2 is getting a play kitchen and accessories, books, and probably some babydolls.

ETA - maybe I could get DD1 some nice headphones. She's always complaining about her earbuds.

What do you get a one-year-old? DD's bday and Christmas are both in December. I just told my parents to get her one of the convertible car seats we need (or they can get both if they are feeling particularly generous). She's got a good amount of toys/books/clothes. DH wants to get her like a big playhouse type thing that will definitely take over the family area. I am not a huge fan of that idea (mostly due to space issues) but I got nothing.
@peanutrach1 We got DD2 this for her 1st birthday. She absolutely loves it. It's not a full house, so doesn't take up much room and you can easily move it out of your way when needed.

@peanutrach1 , we share a nanny with a family with a two year old and she has this. She loves it as does DS. They play with it all the time!

Big present is the Doc McStuffins check up clinic. Then probably a baby and some books.

Eta: my family spoils her so I never by a lot. I used to feel guilty, but really she doesn't care.

  • B's big present is a Disney trip, but I'm sure we'll have some smaller things for her under the tree.  she's really into Disney princesses and Lalaloopsie right now so I'm sure whatever we get her will be along those lines.  We'll probably also get her a couple of Disney movies.

It will be a very Disney holiday in our house!

  • We have 3 kids' bdays in December, plus Christmas. I'm freaking out.

Also, my BIL and brother just came to town on separate visits and bought out TRU for the kids. They have them basically everything I had planned on getting for Christmas so I'm back at square one.

Anyone want to come be my personal shopper?

  • He's getting a wooden train set and a train activity mat. That's it. He needs nothing and I'm having trouble coming up with other ideas for everyone else.

    Other things on his list:

    Lincoln Logs

    Magnatiles

    More Duplos

    Books

    Dish set

Membership renewals to the zoo, children's museum, and science museum

  • We plan to get ds a play kitchen, a tricycle and a basketball hoop for big gifts this Christmas (basketball hoop may be for his bday on 12/7 but haven't decided). I also go by the whole "something they want, something the need, something to wear and something to read. That helps when shopping for anyone
  • DS- Jeep power wheel, Denver Broncos pillow pet, Peyton Manning jersey, and a few Jake and the neverland pirates toys.

DD- iPad mini, clothes, a charm for her pandora bracelet, and a game for the iPad.

  • DD has play-doh, WAY too many baby dolls, a play kitchen with the food, plates, forks, etc. My mom and stepdad like to spoil them, so it's hard to buy for them.

@cinemagoddess how old are your girls? I feel like you were like 6 or so months behind me on the tri/month boards, right?

What size bed? I'm moving DD to a full size (hopefully this weekend) so maybe new sheets would be good instead of using my old sheets...

@peanutrach1, You could get her a Cozy Coupe, push or pull toys, puzzles with the big knobs, blocks, or a ball popper.

  • DD1 (3 years old): She is getting some Fancy Nancy books, Dr. McStuffins kit, Duplo Legos, bag for ballet. Hoping my parents will get her a scooter.

DD2 (will have just turned 1): Cozy Coupe, Vtech shape sorter, stocking. Her birthday is the same month and she is getting a ball popper.

  • DD will be 5 months, DH and I decided we will not give her much for Christmas. We say that now but I know we will be getting her things. I already have my eyes on an infant to toddler rocker and maybe a few books, and an outfit or two.

  • DD is getting the Leap Pad 2, some bath toys, Little People princess castle, some books, art supplies, magnetic ABC's, and maybe some dress up clothes. I never know how much to get her until I go overboard. I just feel guilty for not buying her all the toys since I didn't get much growing up. I am way overcompensating.

I am not buying anything for the LO due Dec 27th, I feel like being born is a good present.

  • Dude, I have no idea.  I was thinking a bike, but MIL came home with one a few weeks ago, so there goes that idea.  DS has been mainly asked for car, trucks or that kind of thing.  He also has asked about that Bubble Guppies toy that there has been commercials for.

I know he is getting into games, and has asked about the Captain Hook game - not sure what it is called or what the age is, but I will probably grab him a game or two.  Other than that.. I got nothing!

  • We are getting DD a twin sized bed and bedding, my brother is getting her a play kitchen and my mom is getting her an electric quad for our house(she has one at Grandmas).

I always suggest books if anyone asks but DH's family hates that because kids can't read until they are like six so why in the world would she need books.

I usually just give sizes and interests and let them find a gift.

Granted, you can take the batteries out. We got ours as a hand me down and will soon be rehomed. DD did enjoy it for a few months.
