Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Winter footwear

What are you doing for footwear for your babies in the cooler months, since they aren't walking? I'm feeling really clueless! We didn't do shoes at all so now we have a pair for when he's out, but I'm curious if people are doing nice squishy booties, regular shoes, are you going for warmth or what?

Re: Winter footwear

  • I've been putting on socks and the soft soled robeez shoes. We just have one pair since like you said he's not walking and they don't get very dirty.

  • I love shoes! Now instead of buying for me I do for her! I only make her wear them when we leave the house. At home she wears just socks.  I send extra socks to daycare so that she can take her shoes off there too.

  • My daughter has several pairs of shoes! They were all gifts but she hasn't worn any yet. I just do socks for now. She does have a pair of cute booties for when it's really cold outside.
  • We will use the Stonz boots.  They go on so easy and stay on really well.  Depending on how cold it is we will use a pair of slippers under those.  Keep her warm, dry and blocks out wind etc.  If she starts walking over the winter months she can use them to walk...she currently wants to do nothing but stand and these will allow for that as well.

  • Great question! I live in Texas, and honestly, my LO has yet to rock a pair of shoes ( just socks on those "cold" mornings).

But we're going to Colorado for Christmas, and he will certainly need warm footwear for outings...I'm paying close attention to recs!

  • I found some boots at BRU that have a fleece lining in them.  They were BOGO 50% off, so I just got two pairs.  I figured they'd get him thru the winter
