When did you bring your twins/multiples home from the hospital?

I've seen so many situations where seemingly perfectly healthy babies stayed in the hospital longer than their mommies for no apparent reason. Sometimes they stay in for a long time, sometimes just a week or so, sometimes they go home right away. What happened with your multiples? Please share also if your LO's had to be transferred to another hospital.

  • Had the girls decided to arrive super fast, they would have needed to be transported to another hospital. Instead, *I* was transported via ambulance to a nearby hospital with a Level III NICU.

  • I voted for the second option, even though technically we all left together. I was officially discharged two days earlier than the babies, but I was allowed to board until they were discharged. They were in the NICU for 4 days and with us in our room for 2 more.

Surprise! Baby #4 is due in March!
  • A hospital won't keep a healthy baby, if there is NICU time it is because there is an issue (most common in full term is jaundice). My boys were born at 29w4d and came home on their two month birthday.
