Period after c/s

I got what I thought was my period last Tuesday it was brown sludge. Now it turned bright red and I am filling heavy pad after heavy pad and sometimes leaking through them is that normal or should I call the OB?

    How fast are you leaking through them?

    I didn't stop bleeding for about 6 weeks after my c/s, but towards the end, it was mostly spotting.  I didn't get AF until almost 5 months after and it was heavier, but nothing extreme.  If you're at all concerned, it wouldn't hurt to speak to a nurse.

    I would call the doc.  I don't remember my first post-partum period being particularly heavy at all.
    IF DX: DOR & Fragile X pre-mutation carrier
    2011: FSH 13.3 & E 99; AMH 0.54 2nd FSH 6.2 E 40's AFC: 8
    BFP from Clomid/IUI ~ Pre-e and IUGR during pregnancy ~ DS born 9/4/12
    Feb./March 2013: AMH less than 0.16 (undectable) and AFC = 4;
    BFP from supps ~ DS#2 due May 2014

    I would call the doc too. If you are filling a heavy pad that fast you should call they always say that. I bled for 9+ weeks so as far as bleeding daily that is normal. I know when I over did it - too much walking lifting etc that would cause the flow to start super heavy all over again too. So I would take it easy for a while again. I didn't actually get a period until 11 months after having ds. I was bfding so that can affect it as well.

    Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born. 

    6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived

    10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP

    I bled for eight weeks post c/s and started my period four weeks later, despite BFing. It also started out brown and moved to bright red, heavy bleeding. I probably filled a heavy pad in about 3 hours, but I'd call if you are having any more than that. That kind of bleeding can be alarming to experience and I think your OB would want to keep an eye on things.

    12dp5dt: 765; 15dp5dt: 1979; 17dp5dt: 3379...TWINS!!!!!
    Our perfect baby boys were born at 36w1d!!

    My first period was super heavy.  I thought I would need a blood transfusion. 



    TTC#1 for 19 months with PCOS and MFI IUI#3 + injectables = BFP!!!!  Beta#1-134(13dpiui) Beta #2-392(15dpiui)
