If you are giving your LO a blanket to sleep with at night, what kind are you using and are you doing anything to keep them from getting twisted in it?
A has had a blanket for as long as I can remember. He is now my Linus kid and must have ALL 3 blankets in bed or he won't sleep. He is good at keeping himself free of them when he wants out, so I don't really worry. He has a fleece tie blanket, a crocheted blanket MIL made for him, and a fuzzy blanket.
DS sleeps with a lightweight A+A blanket, which he snuggles with. He sleeps in a sleep sack because he moves around too much to keep a blanket on him. No problem with being twisted in the blanket!
I mostly just layer sleepers on T in lieu of blankets because they never stay on him. But, if he feels a little chilly when I check on him before I go to bed, I'll put on a smaller crochet blanket. I don't know how long it stays on him though, because it's always in a ball when I get him in the morning. I am going to start using a heavier fleece or flannel blanket now that it's cooler out.
DS has a sleep sack and a crocheted blanket. He doesn't have problems moving the blanket out of his way. Most times I find it stuffed in a corner of the crib.
DD sleeps with 2 little taggie blankets and an afghan that my mom had made her, which I just started using this weekend since it is getting colder now.
DS still uses a sleep sack. Every night when I lay him down he immediately either sits up or stands up until I walk out of the room....only when he is truly exhausted will he stay laying down. I don't know when he will graduate to a real blanket!
F sleeps with two blankets. One is a fleece blanket and the other is a crocheted blanket. And, he sleeps with his Grover. We joke that he makes sweet love to Grover every night, b/c he literally rolls around hugging it until he falls asleep, and wakes up hugging it in the morning.
