Joining the board!

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I found out today that I'm pregnant with twins. I'm still in total shock, and slightly freaking out. My hubby is actually pretty excited about it, which is nice to have him fully on board while I panic. I'm here, and we should get to hear the heartbeats next Monday :)

    Congratulations! This is a great board. My husband was also really calm about it and I went home and cried. H&H 9 months.

    @Stephanie2167 Oh man, I was freakin'. We just bought a new car that won't accommodate 3 car seats. My mind immediately went all of the things that are bad & will be a huge change. This is a HUGE change. It's crazy to think about.

    9dp5dt Beta 1 = 344!! 16dp5dt. Beta 2 = 4822 7wk u/s= 2 heartbeats!

    Congratulations! I"m 10 weeks pregnant with twins and have a 2 year old. I cried and still cry sometimes out of fear/shock at the news, while all my husband can do is talk about how excited he is. It is a lot to take in, these ladies have been such a great source of information and support.

    What kind of car did you buy? We thought we were going to have to buy a new car as well but after doing some carseat research and rearranging, we were able to fit a convertable carseat and two Graco Snugrides in the back of my 2008 Honda Accord and DHs 2008 Nissan Xterra.

    We traded DDs Britax in for a Radian Diono (the thinnest on the market I believe).

    @Stephanie2167 We just bought a brand new Honda Civic. I just don't think we can fit 2 infant seats + 2 bases AND my daughter's Graco back there. That is still my biggest worry. :/

    Congratulations!  So glad your husband is on board, having that support when the hormones take over is so amazing.  My husband is still super excited, but he feels so bad that he can't help me more with the lovely extra pregnancy issues that comes from carrying two :)   Good luck and stick around, great group of ladies here :D

    That was my experience. I was crying/freaking out and he texted me "I'm excited"- I'm glad I got that text - if he had been stressed or scared too I think it would have been a much tougher dark place to pull out of. It did not take me long to get excited as well - definitely making it past the 12 week mark helped!

    5/17/13 BFP!!! 6/6/13 - OMG its TWINS!

    Josie and Lexie were born on January 4, 2014 at 37w2d
    Josie was 5lbs2oz, Lexie was 4lbs15oz 
    Both had a 9 APGAR score with no NICU time
    Planned unscheduled C-Section due to both being breech
    We all went home on Jan 6th, 2 days after surgery

    I would highly recommend getting the Diono Radian. It will last your DD until she's out of a carseat/booster. We bought the Graco Snugrides but from what I read after I purchased them, the Graco Snugride 30 is actually thinner then the one we got so it would fit even better. Good luck!

    Congrats!! Welcome to the club.  I also am still freaking out, but try to put that energy into being excited!  In the end it's truly a blessing and not many people get to experience twins.  We tried for a long time just to get PREGNANT - so the shock of actually being pregnant combined with the double-whammy, it's overwhelming.  Everything else is just logistics and you will make it all work out.
    1st FET 2/14/2013 Happy Valentines Day! - BFN
    2nd FET 6/14/2013     - BPF!!! -
    1st Beta:     1046!!!!! - 2nd Beta: 2754!!!!!
    First u/s 7/11/2013 - TWINS!!! 120 and 124 heartbeats <3
    Second u/s     7/29/2013 - wiggley babies! 178 and 184 heartbeats!
    Third u/s     9/9/2013 - 157 and 161 heartbeats ... a BOY and a GIRL!!!! Cervix on the "shorter side" (3-3.3) - going to check again in 2 weeks.
    Fourth u/s 9/23/2013 - Baby A = 157 Baby B = 150 heartbeat. Cervix now 2.3-2.6 ... being referred to a MFM
    MFM Appointment 9/26/2013 = Both babies healthy, cervix now measuring at 4 - Playing tricks on me ... will follow up in 2 weeks.
    Cervical check 10/7 with regular OB - 2.1cm  --- going BACK to the MFM armed with ultrasound pictures from my OB of my cervix. *sigh*
    MFM Appointment 10/8 - confirmed my cervix at 2.1cm - putting me on Progesterone for a week.
    MFM Appointment 10/17 - Cervix unchanged! Keeping me on Progesterone - followup 10/29

    Congrats!! I am also in a similar boat. We have a 3 year old dd, am almost 19 weeks with twins and my husband just bought a civic about a year ago :sigh:. I have a SUV which will accommodate all three but with a tight squeeze. We will probably have to trade in the civic for a minivan....then daycare....ugh....I feel you, I feel drastically unprepared as we only wanted two- max. But, I can assure you that as the time progresses I am freaking less and less which is comforting. Hang in there!

    Congrats!! We just found out too today that we are having our 2nd set of twins. I've done my fair share of the freak out today too. :D
