My spit-up king

I have been EBF and the past 2 weeks LO has been drinking pumped milk from a bottle at daycare. He is spitting up like crazy and I hate that my precious milk is ending up in a burp cloth instead of his belly. I am using the natural Avent bottles and I'm thinking of changing brands to see if it will help. Have any of you had exceptionally good luck switching to a different brand? I'm thinking of giving Dr browns or playtex nursers a try. Not sure if the flow speed or air is the problem. He is also fussy after a bottle while being burped. Any advice/experiences are appreciated. TIA!

Re: My spit-up king

  • We switched from avent to Dr. Brown and it's like night and day. My LO's gassiness and fussiness after eating seems to be non existent. These bottles are life savers for us!

  • We use dr.brown also and Piper does great with them. I swear she spits up less with them than my breast.
  • We use Tomee Tippee and have had good luck so far

  • We love dr. Browns! They cut down the choking and gagging quite a bit. We had issues with Avent and Tommee Tippee.

  • We have the Avent bottles, but I am tempted to try Dr. Brown's.... LO has been having the same issue recently.

  • We have done great with Playtex, but instead of the nursers, we like the VentAire so that you don't have to constantly buy the liners.

  • We use Dr. Browns. She is still spits up and has gas, but previous experience tells me it is worse with other bottles.

  • The lanosh momma bottle and the joovy boob bottle are the best we found. We tried the tomee tippie avent and born free bottles as well but had lots of drooling and gas.
  • We have tomee tippie and like them. He hasn't had too many bottles yet though but so far so good

  • Playtex nursers and playtex vent aire are what we use. He hardly spits up. Do you think he is drinking the bottle too fast causing him to spit up?

  • Yes, part of me wonders if he is just trying to suck it down to quickly. I have also thought that maybe he cries for a while before daycare is able to get a bottle warm and sucks in a lot of air that way too. Right when he is done with a bottle though he cries while being burped and a lot of times he spits up what looks like a full ounce. He also goes through several fussy spells during the day.
