Making non-skid socks with puffy paint?

I've been searching for good non-skid socks for DD, and so far it seems like to get the combination of colors I want/doesn't cost $10 per pair, it might make sense for me to buy some puffy paints and make my own.

Anyone crafty out there - have you used puffy paints?  Are they washable?  Any words of wisdom?

    We did puff paint with my son. It works great and holds up very well. Super easy too

    Socks can be expensive. We have been buying them at old navy and they are working out great. Lots of colors to pick from, they are cheap, stay on and wash well.
