breast feeding session length

My LO is a week and a half old and feeding can take an hour and a half with burping, her taking breaks, etc...but she still wants to latch and drinks a good amount off and on this whole time. Then she can easily go 3 hours before wanting to feed again. This seems like a long feeding session...what are your breast feeding session length? I hear women are done in 10-20 minutes and dream of this happening with me!

My LO is just over two weeks and in the beginning his sessions were much longer as he and I were both getting used to it. They are much shorter now.

Our girl was taking about 30 min when she was a week or so old. She's now 3 weeks and eats for 5-15 min. She will not eat longer no matter what but she's gaining weight like a champ so I guess I shouldn't be concerned.

DS takes close to an hour, if not more, to nurse, burp, and change diaper. About half of that time is spent trying to awaken him and him falling asleep and waking up minutes later acting like he's starving.

That's not abnormal. All you do for the first month is nurse, change diapers and watch LO sleep. He'll get faster as the weeks go on and he learns and grows.
