share LO's fave menu

I'm just trying to shake up his options. Right now his favorite meal is little chunks of chicken with rice and he loves his green beans and bananas and smashed sweet potatoes which we don't have too often. We are pretty bland at this point so I'm looking for more ideas!

And DH always finds the opportunity to feed DS anything sweet. He'll let him nibble on a cookie he is eating or whatever. I always lecture DH but I also know it won't hurt DS...I just obviously don't want DS to get a sweet tooth too young. I have a huge sweet tooth and I really hate to pass that trait on.

Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

Re: share LO's fave menu

  • My DH does the same thing, gives her tastes of sweets all the time!

Her fav dinner is peas, turkey and noodles.  I buy the veggie pasta for her.  She also likes cheese and rice.  She seems to not like the texture of fruit so usually just gets those as purees for now.

  • I am the worlds pickiest eater, so I am trying not to pass that along. Luckily she gobbles down everything we put in front of her. The other night we had pasta with broccoli and carrots in a garlic butter sauce, she loved it. She also loves black beans. I also gave her avocado last week for the first time (originally my plan was to start her out on that) she ate almost the entire thing. She's not too picky about fruit either. Love it all so far.

  • DS will eat pretty much anything we give him except avocados. For some reason, he really hates them. His favorite things are meatballs, bananas, Cheerios and cheese.

  • Yesterday she had lentils with a tumeric spiced carrot + apple puree. She loved it
  • Yesterday he had braised short ribs with sweet potatoes, celery, onion, and carrot.  Tonight he had roasted red peppers, grilled chicken, and an orange.  He also likes chicken tikka masala, shepherd's pie, and any kind of meatballs.
We have found that he will eat pretty much whatever we are eating.  We tend to eat pretty well and don't do processed food very often so that makes it a bit easier.
    Oh, favorite snack, sliced cucumber.

  • We feed DD whatever we are eating (unless we are eating processed crap) and I call her my little garbage disposal.  Right now she will eat anything I give her but she definitely has favorites such as homemade apple sauce, homemade mac and cheese (she's only had this once), whole grain rotini with meat sauce, squash and any kind of potato.

  • Just curious, how are you serving the cheese? Not sure how to give this to DS, plus he only has 2 bottom teeth.

DD has two bottom teeth as well.  I gave her a strip of cheddar cheese a few weeks ago, but the texture seemed problematic for her, she threw it up.  Then I gave her a little piece of brie this weekend and she gobbled/gummed it up!  I give her long french-fry sized pieces of cheese that she can hold and chew.

  • Breakfast is usually Cheerios, fruit or a scrambled egg.

    Lunch usually a veggie purée.

Dinner is whatever we eat she won't usually turn anything down(except avocado) Peas and chicken are favorites.

She's tried sweets twice. She had ice cream on vacation and had pumpkin pudding yesterday. She obviously loved them both.
