I just read on Kellymom that you are not supposed to pump more than 20 minutes-- why is that? does anyone know what bad thing will happen if I pump longer than 20 minutes? I just starting EPing 2 weeks ago due to a nursing strike and have been able to pump her full 25 ounces during 4 pumping sessions. My morning sessions usually last longer than 20 minutes because they are so full it takes longer to completely empty... This has been working well for me, but I'm curious what's up with Kellymom's recommendation... TIA!
here's what I read in kellymom in case you want to see the source:
"Remember to pump at LEAST 10 minutes, but no more than 20 minutes per session" https://kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/pumping/what-to-expect-when-pumping/
Re: why aren't you supposed to pump for more than 20 minutes?
I pump until my breasts are empty due to some bad clogs I've had and mastitis. I do my best to empty them in 20 minutes (massage compressions etc) but there are times I have to pump an extra 5 minutes to get everything out. I do what it takes to be empty but do try to limit it to 25 minutes max.

I don't, but that's what our LC told me. That said, sometimes I forget to check the time and have pumped for 25min rather than my usual 15. My nips get a little bruised feeling, but seem ok.
