sleeping on stomach

Ella keeps rolling onto her stomach but not turning her head..she burrows it in mattress. Any suggestions? I roll her back to her back but its a battle and we go back and forth untul we compromise and she stays on her side but I wake up and she is on her stomach face in mattress

They have roll prevention cushions you can buy I think.. I might get one for Connor because he does the same thing sometimes.

Edit: They also have something called the guardian sleeper.. hmm

  • If she's rolling into that position on her own, I'd say she's OK to sleep on her tummy by now.

This. Usually babies sleep better once they can get themselves into a comfortable position. As long as the sheet is nice and tight and there are no other blankets or stuff around, its fine.

This. My DS has been rolling in his belly for nearly every nap and bedtime for about a month now. I was a bit worried at first, but after a few days it became clear he was just more comfortable that way and he was able to roll both ways very well. Plus, it's not a battle you can win unless you plan to stay up all night rolling your baby back over...and no one is going to sleep well that way!

  • Connor sleeps face down in the mattress.... meaning his mouth or his nose is not visible when you look at him. He can obviously breathe since he doesn't move instantly, but it is still not something I want to risk. When he does roll around and his face is out in the open, I am not worried.
