I am so glad to be back at work this morning

I've been on my own with 3 kids for a week now. Being a single parent is hard, yo. DH is still at his parent's house. We went over for breakfast yesterday morning. He is still so tired and looks weak. He lost alot of weight in a short period of time. Most of it was water weight, but when he was admitted to the hospital last Sunday he weighed 318 and on Thursday morning at his parent's house he weighed 255. Yes, you read that right. That fluid must have been building up for a while.

Oh yeah, Camden hurt his hand at football practice last Monday. At first we thought his thumb/finger was jammed and with everything else going on his injury got put on the back burner. Anywho, it kept bothering him so Friday morning I took him to an ortho. Well, guess what? The bone above his index finger in his hand is cracked. MOTY, right here!

Hope your H starts feeling better soon! When H was a kid he was playing with his brothers on Thanksgiving and they tackled him. He kept saying his shoulder hurt and was trying to eat dinner with his left hand when he's a righty. His mom told him to quit being dramatic and "eat right!" The next day they realized he'd broken his collarbone. I think it happens to the best of parents lol

Well, the short story is DH was admitted to the ICU last Sunday with congestive heart failure due to a virus that attacked his heart. The signs we got was that he had been really tired for several weeks and then started having some ankle swelling the week before. Then he woke up last Sunday with swelling in his face, hands, legs and feet. Like really bad. He went to an after hours clinic and was later advised to go to the ER.

So, so sorry you have so many difficult things to contend with right now! You ARE mother of the year for dealing with all of that and still keeping your shit together.

I do miss him being at home a lot @mbenit4. I'm so glad that he is able to stay at his parent's house and that they are taking good care of him though. I really don't know how I'm going to keep our house quiet and less stressful when he does come home.

Single parents definitely deserve a medal or something! DH travels a lot for work and it's hard when he is gone. I am sure it doesn't even compare to doing it 24/7, 365 days a year.

Hoping your Dh's appointment goes well today and his recovery is quick!

Hugs @libby1978 You've had an insane week!! I'm glad your H is taking it easy and being pampered by his mom. Sometimes moms can be the all-healers, ykwim? Sorry you're missing him! And so sorry your Ds has a broken hand. I hope it heals fast! I'm sure it will, kids bounce back quickly.

I just got back from meeting DH and the IL's at his appointment. The doctor had nothing but positive things to say. He didn't hear any fluid on his heart, so that's a plus. He will continue to take the diuretic, beta blocker and some other med that I can't remember. He will go back for a eco cardiogram in a month and another check-up with the doctor to determine how well the heart is recovering. Just like they said in the hospital they expect a full recovery. The house cleaners that SIL hired come tomorrow, so the kids and I will be working on getting everything picked up and out of the way tonight. I have a shit ton of laundry to fold too. Anyway, hopefully he'll come home in the next few days and hopefully I can handle 3 kids plus a patient.
