Alrighty y'all! Quick recap for ya before the update begins. I posted Tuesday about going to l&d with 9 min contractions, fingertip dilated, sent home. At my appt Thurs I was 1cm & 50% effaced (33w4d) and did the fetal fibronectin test to check for signs of preterm labor.
Update: Friday morning I still had no ffn results, but felt like I was contracting approx every 7 min. Then every 5. DH decided we were calling the dr, with or without the ffn, and they said go to l&d. Get on the monitor, contractions are every 2 minutes - cervical check showed I was still 50% but dilated 2-3cm. Immediately admitted me for 48 hours of magnesium sulfate, 2 steroid shots, and 12 doses of antibiotics.
It took a full 24 hours for the mag to stop the contractions, but it did eventually work. Made me feel like death, but so long as it works. I came off about 12 hours ago (4:15pm) and now we are just waiting to see what she is going to do. They have put me on the monitors a couple times and I was contracting, just not regularly, and it was mixed with "uterine irritation." So about another 12 hours of observation before I can leave, unless contractions get more regular or cervix changes.
Oh and the stupid ffn results came back negative! Yeah I got to be that lucky 1% who goes into labor anyway.
Sorry for the novel, but after posting all week and then disappearing I thought a sufficient update was due! As always, any T&Ps you can spare are wonderful! Baby looks great, she has been a champ, just deciding what she wants to do from here on out. Also, if anyone has any experience with doing mag sulfate treatments, how long did yours stave off labor after you finished? Thanks ladies!

Since then I had been doing fine, after a week of bed rest and a check up I was cleared to go back to normal workout/daily routines. Since then I had no contractions or any issues.
Just recently started having some off and on contractions (no where close to each other/not very strong) but I'm now 35 weeks. So I'm just waiting till my next check up for now unless things progress; so hopefully this mag treatment will keep yours off for a while or at least just a few more weeks
My doctors have all told me that at 35 weeks they no longer try to stop contractions/labor; but obviously each doctor can be different!
