Group b strep

Anyone else positive for group b strep? Just another thing to worry about :-/

Re: Group b strep

  • Yup.. I've known for a while now though. Just curious.. Has your doctor given you any different instructions on when to go to the hospital, etc? Mine hasn't... Just the same as everyone else I think... I would still like to labor at home as long as possible. Sorry you have to deal with it too. Hopefully it ends up being no big deal for both of us and our little babies!

  • I have known since the beginning pretty much as I has several infections! My dr just says it's bolded in my files so the dots will know what to do during labor but told me not to worry! I am having a C so it doesn't matter they said. Not sure if that made you feel better or not but thought I would share.

  • Me too...I was told if my water breaks I need to go in right away but otherwise can labor at home
  • I tested positive as well. I was told as soon as my water breaks I have to go in so they can give me antibiotics

This. I was group b strep last time as well. As soon as your water breaks they want you at the hospital. Good luck.

  • Yep, they found it in my urine a few weeks ago. I did 10 days of penicillin and they said I'll get at least four hours of IV antibiotics at delivery. No biggie as long as you are treated for it.

  • Did they find it in your urine during a routine urine check? Like with the dipsticks?
