Small space question...co-sleeper or bassinet

I'm looking for advice and opinions please. We have a small house so I don't feel the need or really have the space for a PNP. I would like our son to sleep in our room the first couple months. I'm trying to decide between a co sleeper that attaches to the bed or a small or travel bassinet that could also be used around the house during the day. It seems like either of these options are fairly expensive, but necessary. What are you guys using? Any recommedations? TIA!

Re: Small space question...co-sleeper or bassinet

  • We use the Arms Reach Mini Cosleeper. It's a bassinet that can either stand alone or one side lowers and you can attach it to the side of your bed for easy night feedings. Plus it collapses down small and has a carrying case for easy travel or to store for the next kid. We LOVE it.

  • DH found thr Arm's Reach cosleepers to be a PITA to put up / take down. The Mini was a little better & he far prefered the Pack n Play's ease. The Mini can be unlatched fairly easily from the bed and then rolled from one room to another. Assuming that your bed is the right height, would probably go with one of the minis that will convert into a play yard (the Convertible version appears to do that).

  • We have the Arms Reach mini cosleeper. I love it and will absolutely use it again with LO2. I didn't find it to be too annoying to set up, but I only did it once, I don't move it around the house at all or use it for travel. I have the leg extension kit to match the height of my bed. The mini is plenty big enough by the way, DD was in it for 7 months until she started being mobile, she still had a few inches to spare when we moved her to the crib and she's 85th percentile
