WWYD - work trip and sick kid

This is a first for me (though fortunately I don't have to travel much). DD has had a fever since Friday night, with no other symptoms. It's either a virus, UTI, or ear infection, most likely. She is generally not too sick but definitely only wants mom and isn't eating well at all, her temp goes between 101 and 102.8. I am supposed to go on a cross country trip tomorrow until Wednesday night, but I am so hesitant to leave with her like this, especially if they are going to catheterize her at the doc! She is petrified of the doctor right now and will be a total mess.
Work will be pretty peeved if I don't go, though, as this is a big meeting and have a presentation to give. Ugh. My inclination is to stay home and take the heat...

    When is your presentation? Could you take her to the doc tomorrow and leave tomorrow evening or Tuesday?

    I'm not sure what to do but I'm sorry you're faced with the decision. For me, it would be easier to go if DH would be able to take care of her (stay home from work, etc.)

    That stinks. I am sorry your LO is sick and you are faced with a tough decision. :-(

    If it was me, I would go. I wouldn't be thrilled with leaving my little guys if they were sick, but I know my DH is perfectly capable of caring for them and comforting them when they are sick so I know they would be in good hands, just like I am sure your LO will be.

    DH is awesome with her, but she is going through a total mommy phase right now, and I'm hesitant to add to the stress. I wish I could leave later, but my presentation is Tuesday morning. Argh.

    And she will turn to Daddy when she can't have mommy and all will be okay.

    I would try to take her to the doctor this am. Maybe they won't need to catheterize? DD had to be catheterized a couple times for UTI checks and I HATED it, so I know it would be hard not to be there.

    Her fever broke! She still isn't eating, though. I'm on my way but will head back if things really turn south.
