Update on my Friday night

Thank you all for the T&Ps last night. Apparently my FIL flat lined twice yesterday, not just the once. The first time he actually knew it and when they brought him back he asked if his heart stopped. He was in the middle of talking to the nurse and then just passed out.
Anyway, seeing him was the hardest thing I've done emotionally in my life. I can't imagine how DH must be feeling. It was really hard to see him almost lifeless and with no color after a 10 hour surgery.
They said he isn't out if the woods and will be in the hospital another 9 or 10 days provided their are no major set backs.
I'm really grateful to have you guys and your support!

I haven't had much more to update because there isn't a lot of change. He continues to flatline every so many hours. They keep him on the external pacemaker but each time the turn it off to try and let his heart do some of its own work he seems to go into cardiac arrest. Not good at this point. The cardiac team is meeting tomorrow and DH will be up at the hospital for the update and next plan of action.
