I'm not the type to freak about a fever although I know it means the body is fighting something. If LO had a fever of 101ish I would probably wait, since often times nurse lines will tell you to wait 24 hours and see if the fever persists. However, if my child had a super high fever of 103-104ish I'd be bringing him in right away. Luckily the only time he's had a fever so far was right after he was born. Dreading the day :-/ good luck to you and our LO!

Our pedi told us technically a fever starts at 100.4, but not to do anything for it until it's over 101. Hope everything is okay!
ETA Just re-read this and realized you were asking about calling the Dr, I would call after 101.5, but go with your instinct! They are there for you if you need them.
No focal symptoms plus fever >101 = call your doctor. Gotta figure out where that fever is coming from.
That being said, fever plus cold symptoms (runny nose, etc) and I probably wouldn't call the doctor for a fever unless it was >103-104... but... we have two doctors at home so my threshold is a bit higher than most!

Thx everyone. It was 102 so I called. She said give Tylenol as necessary and call back if it gets above 104 or lasts more than 3 days. Was better this morning but still high so I gave her another dose. She said there are a bunch of viruses going around that are likely the culprit.
