Toys for. 2 year old

I'm trying to think of a present to get DD for her second birthday. What are your LOs favorite toys right now? I'm looking for something that will foster independent play and keep her busy, as we are expecting DD3 soon. She loves her dollhouse and her kitchen, and those keep her and her sister pretty busy, but we don't have much room for anything else too big.

    Building blocks are a hit around here (mega block, duplos, or plain wooden, all three sets get played with equally). Dress up clothes, baby dolls and accessories, Little People sets (they especially love the Princess Castle and the zoo). Craft supplies, the Crayola Color Wonder line is awesome for mess-free crafts when I can't constantly supervise. And books! Some days my girls will sit and work their way through their entire bookshelf "reading" to each other.

    little people stuff is a big hit with my DD. we have the princess castle, airplane and bus. Those princesses get around. There is also a great farm set as well. An easel is her other favorite item but a bit bulkly. I second the dress up stuff.

    Accessories for my daughter's dolls keep her busy..... blankets, diapers, bottles and DD#2's baby swings, bouncers and jumpers.

    His easel. Marker board on one side, chalkboard on the other, roll of paper that can be used on either. Mostly we use the paper and crayons.

    Baby dolls and accessories. DD1 has a doll crib and changing table in her room and some other accessories like a diaper bag and bottles. DD2 is always playing with that stuff. She also loves pushing her baby in a stroller or in her grocery cart.

    DS loves his little people sets at 2.5. Also agree with pp about a backpack, DS loves collecting things in his. Lakeshore learning and one step ahead (google them) have lots of great toys that you can't get in stores, worth a look for ideas if anything, they also run more than toys at stores.

    DD rides her wheely bug every single day and has since she got it for her 1st Christmas. Benny the bull is another hit at our house. Do you have a play kitchen, sand/water table or trampoline? Those were and still are popular at our house.
