Need opinions on last feeding of the day

Do you make the last feeding of the day at the same time every day?  The pediatrician was very happy with my DD weight gain and said we no longer need to wake her ever three hours to eat during the day.  Today is the first day of doing that.  The longest she went today was 3 1/2 hours.  Anyways, until now, I knew what time she would eat her last meal of the day because it was every three hours.  I would try to play with the timing to make the last meal be around 9:30.  But now I have no idea when she'll wake up.  I'm guessing she'll want to eat between 8 and 8:30.  Would you still wake her around 9:30 to be consistent every night?  Does anyone have a good night time plan that they want to share, especially if your LO is sleeping for longer stretches?  The doctor was surprised that my LO is only sleeping a max of 3 hr 45 min at night.  She usually sleeps 3 1/2 hours, then only sleeps in like 2 hour stretches during the night.  I'm hoping to stretch these out somehow.

  • How old is LO? Usually it is recommended to continue to wake during the day to eat, but to let baby sleep at night if they are over their birth weight. DS never went more than 3 1/2 or 4 hrs in between daytime feedings. We would try to keep him awake in the evening and then whenever he got sleepy, that was his last feeding for the night. If she is very sleepy after 8:30 and stays asleep for awhile, I would make that her bedtime and not wake to eat at 9:30.

  • She will be 4 weeks tomorrow. The longest she went today without waking up to eat was 3 1/2 hours. She's up to 8lb 6oz from 6lb 5oz at birth, so I guess her dr was confident that she would eat when she's hungry.

  • My daughter always has her last feeding about 715pm . She would sleep till 12 then up every 3-4 hrs after that at night. She eats every 2-3 hrs during the day.

  • I feed when DD is hungry. LO will get on a schedule in her own time.

  • He gets a bottle every 3 hours during the day and doesn't go more than 4 hours without during the night because he is waking up that often.  Our Dr. said once he gets more regular on his sleep to not wake him at night.  A wet diaper wakes him within the 4 hour mark at night.
  • Follow your babies cues. I think you will find they will kinda create a schedule. Mine eats at 730 but won't sleep after then again at 830 /9 and then is ready to sleep. If I try and put him down after the 730 he won't sleep

  • My LO will be 7 weeks tomorrow. We start her bedtime routine around 8 and she does her last feeding by 915. She usually slept still at least 6 in the morning.
  • Thanks everyone. I don't know if my LO is still too young, but there is no routine with her. Every day and night seems to be completely different.
