I accepted a job in a school district this June and ended up pregnant in August (due May 10th!). I start the job in three weeks. We are very excited about the baby but I'm conflicted because I'm thinking my coworkers might view my pregnancy as a negative thing--needing maternity leave 6 months after I start! I'm not sure when or how to share my news. I know that my coworkers will be very surprised. I'm sure gossiping will happen behind closed doors. Should I be worrying about this? Shouldn't they have expected this when hiring a 28 year old married woman? I'm still feeling bad about it...like I let them down! It's my first year on the job...ugh...
Re: Need insight--pregnant and starting new job!
I don't know if I should even be interviewing knowing I'm pregnant but I want and need a job closer to home.
