Belly band - does it help ?

I am going to have my second c section at the end of next month. Wondering if anyone has tried using a belly band as an aid in the healing process? And if so, did it help with pain management?

Re: Belly band - does it help ?

  • I asked the nurse for a belly binder- it helped give me support when sitting up in bed, standing up, and sitting back down. Also when I would sneeze or cough!

I loved the support it gave. I don't think it did a lot for pain. I just kept up on my pain meds.

    Good luck!

My belly binder was a God-send!!
  • I bought one before my cs and honestly never wore it. I tried it, but I didn't like it on my incision. I've just been wearing super high underwear :)

    Same here!
  • Definitely. Gave me support and was a nice little barrier when the baby would be squirming on my chest and kicking my stomach.
  • Absolutely! To me it was a life saver.
  • After my first csection, I would swear by them. After my second, it was just a pain and unnecessary. My hospital puts one on during recovery. I would wait and see, you may have days when it's very necessary and days when it's too much of a hassle.
