Should I let them go without me?

I have a cold and feel gross, but with drugs I feel human. DH's aunt is hosting Thanksgiving (clearly, we're in Canada) on Sunday. DH offered to take DS without me, so I can have the afternoon to myself to rest. That sounds awesome, right? Except the thought of them there without me worries me. Not because his aunt and her family will let DS get hurt, or neglect him or anything, but it's a really cluttered house and not baby proof in the slightest, so DS will have to be held the whole time. The always have a houseful of people who will want to hold him, and that's fine. I'm just not a huge fan of everyone who will be there and the thought of me staying home while DH lets so-and-so hold the baby without me there to watch bugs me. Am I being silly? Also, I want turkey! WWYD?

They will be fine without you! While you are certain to be missed, no one wants your cold! Rest and get better.

Oh, and ask DH to bring you home a plate. That way you get turkey too!

Ooo thats tough. I hate to miss out on big family events, especially now with LO but take some time for yourself and to recover. Im sure DH can handle it! Definitely get some leftovers. Cant wait for my turkey saturday and beef sunday!

Are the options they they go without you or no one goes? If so, I would say let them go. Sorry you aren't feeling well.

I understand your thought process, but I'd let them go. Ditto PP - have your DH bring home a plate. And rest up while they're gone. It'll all be just fine.
