Anyone watching Glee?

I haven't watched in a couple years but tonight is the Cory episode. I missed the first 12 minutes. How did they write in the death?

They didn't really, it started with Kurt talking about going back three weeks after the funeral for a memorial.

Ugh - heartbreaking!!!! Kurt just said in the beginning that it doesn't matter how he died, that they need to celebrate his life.

I feel like the songs that were the most touching came from the wrong characters. I was also disappointed that none of the 'adults' sang.

Well, the song Rachel sang was my wedding song and watching her was just heartbreaking. Surprisingly the only part I teared up at was when she said she was afraid shed forget the sound of his voice. I said that exact same thing when my best friend was killed and sadly, its beginning to fade. Death just sucks, no matter the cause.

I'm not saying they weren't good, I think that overall the episode did a nice job paying homage to both the character and the actor. I guess my real issue (not sure that's the right word) was with "I'll Stand By You".

I didn't watch the series enough to know if that was a special on camera moment for them since she said that was the song they would sing while driving around. I was thinking that might have been a personal IRL song for them. It was just heartbreaking to watch knowing that they were a couple in real life too.

"I'll Stand By You" was not sung by the character he was in a relationship with (on the show or IRL). I'm guessing that's why AKB had an issue with that song?

Oh sorry, I just saw Rachel and thought that is what they were referencing. I watched but don't remember what song she sang.

@hmp1 - That's why I tried to clarify a little. But Rachel's song (show AND IRL girlfriend)...OMG. She was visibly shaking. Awful.

Yep! I guess I didn't feel like those characters had enough of a connection for her to sing that song. It didn't seem as genuine as most of the others.

I thought the most heartwrenching scene was the part where the family was cleaning out his bedroom and his mom was talking about how she never understood how a parent could keep on living after losing a child...ugghhhhh becoming a parent has made me such a softie!
