Does anyone use goats milk for formula?

  • I guess I'm confused by the question? Are you asking about using it instead of formula? I don't know much about goat's milk, but I can't imagine it has enough of all or the vitamins and minerals baby needs to make it dafe to use in place of formula. If you're talking about when baby is past a year and doesn't need formula anymore, I don't see any reason why you couldn't substitute it in place of cow's milk, as long as your LO is getting enough calcium, vitamin D, and fat from the milk or other sources.

    Yes I am talking about using a goats milk formula the only think different between goats milk and regular milk is the folic acid and fat content

  • I have only heard of people using a home made goat's milk based formula. It is generally not recommended by the medical establishment to do this, but there are many people on the internets that swear by it. You can find a recipe if you google.

    I am pretty sure goat's milk on its own doesn't have enough nutritional components in it to substitute for formula.

    IVF #1 ET 1 d3 embryo 10/30/11 BFP
    3 Embryos frozen (1 d5, 2 d6)

    DS born 07/29/12

    FET #1 ET 1 d5 embryo 02/10/15 BFN

    FET #2 1 d6 embryo didn't survive thaw, transferred last d6. CP :(
