Forward Facing for an outing

I'm currently visiting my parents and will be going downtown with my sister and LO later. My sister has a forward-facing car seat in her car. I'm not worried about using it for this one evening, but I'm worried about how Tumaini will react when I put her back in her rear-facing seat. Do I insist on taking my father's car, in which our rear-facing seat is installed? My husband isn't as adamant as I am about the rear-facing, and I'm worried he'll insist on forward-facing her if she has a big fit about being rear-facing after having experienced the forward-facing. Has anyone forward-faced before going back to rear-facing? Any issues?

    Do the straps fit her, or are they way too high? That might solve your problem! Easier to take your car than re-thread the straps.
    My sister is a social worker who brings toddlers to their parents for supervised visits, so she's constantly re-threading the straps and she won't see it as being an issue.

    Robert usually rides in my car which is rear facing, but also rides in DH's cars sometimes which is forward facing. He doesn't have a problem switching.

    Eh, I'm pretty adamant about RFing for as long as possible, and I wouldn't even chance it for a single car ride. I'd be the pain who brought my own car seat and made DS ride RFing.

    When we went on vacation for a week, the carseat that came with the rental would not work rearfacing so For one week he did forward facing and when we came home he did fine switching back to rear facing.
