How to heat and make bottles while out

This Sunday is baby's baptism and I'm trying to get everything ready. Being that there won't be a bottle warmer or refrigerator or crib for nap handy. This is going to be difficult. Anyone have any suggestions?

This is why we never warmed them lol We always just bring formula and water with us so that we can feed wherever, whenever.

Yeah, if it's formula, just mix it there. I usually take mixed formula in a cooler bag when I go out with DD, but she's used to it cold and often prefers it that way.

How long are you going to be there? Long enough that your LO will need a nap? If so, I'd wear the baby or bring something portable like a RnP.

If it's BM, you can pump before you leave and serve the expressed BM in a bottle, which will be good for 5 hours at room temperature.

Heat up the water to almost a boil right before you go and then put it in the bottle. When it's time to feed dump the formula in. Depending on how long it is the water may still be warm.

If your FF get a thermos and before you leave fill it up with warm water . You can also get the formula travel containers . All four of my kids were FF it took us two kids to figure out this system works the best .

If it's BM you can take a cooler bag to keep it chilled and also take a thermos of hot water to warm the bottle in. I know it's a bit much to carry. If it's formula I was able to use room temperature water so I would fill a bottle with the water and then a container that contained to powder and just mix it when needed.

Thermos what a great idea! Definitely going to use ours when we are going to be out and about and need to feed our son a bottle. I am lucky because my son will drink a cold or warm bottle but if I can heat it for him I do. I just think about myself and how I would rather have warm milk if I was a baby!

Why would you need a bottle warmer? Just give the bottle at room temperature. Also, if you use formula just mix the bottle when he is ready for it, and then you don't need a fridge. I don't know about other brands, but Enfamil makes single serving formula tubes. These are all we use when we are out and about. So convenient, but more pricy.

(ETA: We bring bottled water with us to make them.)

If you use breastmilk, it can be kept on ice for awhile and still be good, unlike formula. (Formula has to be kept cooler.) I am not sure of the exact amount of hours, but you could Google it.

As far as the nap goes, do you have a Rock and Play? If so, bring that. Otherwise the baby could probably just sleep in your arms.

We would use premade formula bottles initially when we were going to be out for a while. We just opened the bottles and fed LO right there. Then we didn't have to worry about mixing formula or expiration time of a prepared bottle.

I EBF and when I started pumping, I never warmed the milk up. He got used to drinking it at room temp and will now even drink a bottle of pumped milk cold from the fridge. But if you are going to give it room temp, I would try to do it in advance! Honestly though as a BFer, I try to jus breastfeed whenever possible because it's so much easier than pumping, not really relevant to you of you're FFing though !
