December 2011 Moms

Happy Friday!!!!

I haven't been this excited about Friday in a long time! As a SAHM, Friday usually means nothing but we are finishing our basement.  I have had all I can take of the noise and stress for one week.  Its day 4 and we are already over budget.  The builder supposedly already roughed in the plumbing but he put the toilet practically in the shower so they had to jack hammer the concrete today.  Anyways enough of my first world problems.  What are your plans for the weekend??  My parents are coming from NC and I am excited for a little peace and quiet with help from Mimi!

  • That must be really annoying to listen to, I don't blame you. I would be going nuts with all that noise, hopefully they'll be done soon and you'll enjoy your nice new basement! And hope you have a great time with your parents! I grew up in Virginia so we went to NC a lot :) We don't have much planned this weekend which will be nice! Hopefully going to be able to meet up with @kelly1109 since we live about a half hour away. Will be fun to get the boys together! Hope everyone has a nice weekend! It's 76 and sunny here, doesn't feel like October.

  • @mtb21 - all those "its only $100 extra" add up fast!  Happy Thanksgiving :) You are making me hungry for some good home cooked comfort food!

@jmcmahon21 - The weather is beautiful here too.  We are trying to take advantage of every park day left before it gets too cold.

  • @Jesselayne8 sorry that does sound really sucky.

We are at our beach house for the last weekend this season, its supposed to be Indian Summer Weekend, but the weather is really not cooperating so we are most likely here for reason at all, because we wont be able to put wet outdoor furniture away to store for the winter and its looks like both the block party and fire works are going to be rained out...  :((

Okay I'm done whining about my silly weekend, and moving on to being super jealous of thanksgiving food already!

TTC#1 May 2009- July 2010 on our own with no luck

Started with RE in August 2010, dx with unexplained IF and then finally our 3rd IUI cycle using Follistim and Trigger resulted in our wonderful little man.  Born 12/2/11

TTC#2 Never really prevented, but were careful early on as Dr. reccomended

Surprise BFP 12/16/13, started progesterone immediately as first numbers came back low, but betas were good.  Progesterone wasnt enough. Natural MC 12/24/13.

Back with RE as of January 2014...

    5/27/14- Chemical Pregnancy :(

    April 2015 IVF#1

    5/13/15- BFP, please stick LO!

Oh and I'm a major Harry Potter Nerd :)

  • I am jealous of your basement! I hope it will be done soon :-)

@jmcmahon21, enjoy your GTG with Kelly, that is awesome! I love meeting other bumpies!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canadians on this board!

We have nothing big planned. It's supposed to rain a lot this weekend, so I think we'll get a new bike helmet for Alex (he has a big head!). We'll see what else we come up with :-)

Wow that stinks! When will your basement be done? Hope it turns out to be everything you hope for! Construction adds up so fast. And you don't want to go cheap on everything, then you're stuck with crap. Good luck!
  • They estimated 5 weeks so I am prepared for 6-8 weeks.

  • I spoke too soon. The contractor called and asked if the electrician could work tomorrow. I said yes because I won't be the one to stop progress.

Nice! Working on Saturday! Gotta love stone motivated people.
  • It's always nice when a big project is finished. Hope you enjoy the new basement!

DH is off having a boys weekend at a college football game, so after LO went to bed last night, I watched a movie in our new media room with a bottle of wine and a giant bowl of kettle corn. It was fantastic!

This morning, LO and I went out to get his halloween costume and ran some errands. He's napping now and I'm parked on the couch watching the Texas and OU football game. I love lazy Saturdays!
