I did this winter. Around the dreaded 4 month wakeful period DD2 was sleeping terribly for a stretch of about 5-6 weeks. I slept for a total of about 3 hours each night. After a couple weeks I started experiencing the typical sleep deprivation signs-blurry vision, foggy memory, lack of appetite etc. I eventually had to let her CIO after trying many other sleep training techniques because I started dozing off in a whole variety of unsafe places. By then she was over 5 months old so I felt a little better about CIO, but I do wish I could have waited longer. I hope you can catch a nap this weekend!

I am going to see the dr. in 45 min. this is embarassing but I am worried about getting there. I just have to walk but I feel like I'd walk into traffic or something.

Jesus. Please check in later. Can you call in sick this afternoon and rest?
Good luck! I was feeling this way for a while, so my mom finally sent me to my grandmas house for a week so that I could sleep and rest and my grandma took care of Wesley for me. I felt so much better and my grandma got to bond with Wesley, hope that you can get some sleep!
@lady dixneuf did you make your appt? Could they help at all?
I did. I saw my GP
he switched my anti depressants and did some bloodwork. I need some sleep like really bad. E sleeps in our room so I think I may sleep on the couch tonight so I am not constantly interrupted.

My h will hopefully help this weekend, he actually doesn't have to work for once. Now let's hope he actually follows through. He's a piece of shit in the middle of the night. He doesn't wake up or just becomes a jerk.
I hope your H helps you this weekend Lady D so that you can get some sleep! My husband doesn't wake up either at night, he says I would have woke up if I heard him but I know he is lying.
Hey Dix, I'm really sorry you're going through this. It is a really shit feeling when you need help and are prepared to ask for help, but there is nobody around (like handy relatives) to give you that help. It does sound like it's time for drastic measures though - are you able to take sick leave and travel to relatives for a couple of days, with or without E? What about that night in a hotel? Can you move E's crib to the lounge for a couple of nights? Seriously, you're in self-preservation territory, you have to find something that will give you a break.
We are here to offer sympathy and support, but you really need proper, physical help. Can you take a day or two off work and sleep while E's at DC?
ETA: your son's correct initial! And another paragraph.
