I hadn't had a cs booked but was on the verge of b ooking it because of a breech baby when my waters broke spontaneously. I went into labor at 36 weeks and would have booked my c s for between 39&40 weeks. in this instance I went to my hospital when my waters broke ( after calling my midwife), they confirmed baby was still breech and got new in for a cs that morning.
My water broke five days before my scheduled RCS. I took about an hour to shower and get to the hospital, and then it took a few more hours to test to make sure my water had actually broken and to assemble a surgical team, since it was a holiday and I was delivering at a smallish hospital. DS was born about four hours after my water broke. By the time I got to the OR I was having regular, strong contractions, but I wasn't in as much pain as I was with DD. It was very low stress compared to my first labor and c/s, and I actually kind of liked that DS's birthday turned out to be a surprise and I didn't have to get up crazy early on the day of my scheduled c/s. The OB on call was not from my practice, which caused issues with my insurance initially (I disputed the charge and eventually got it covered), but I didn't really care who did the surgery as long as DS came out fine.
DD born 10/10/07 * DS born 11/25/11 * #3 due 3/9/2015
I started having timeable contractions four days before my RCS date. I called my husband who had just gotten to work when i knew it was the real deal. By the time I was checked at the hospital (two hours from start of contractions) I was 8cm!
They quickly prepped and took me back to the OR where DD was delivered. I wasn't allowed to vbac due to a complication, but normally under those circumstances they would have let me deliver vaginally.
My RCS was scheduled for 39w3d. I was monitored weekly (NST) once I got to 1 cm and 50% effaced, starting at my 36 week visit. At 38w, I was 3cm and fully effaced, so my OB sent me over to L&D right then (about 10 am) for my RCS before I went into active labor, which was the next step, and the baby was delivered at 1 pm.
My OB said I had been contracting a lot until then, based on what he saw when he opened me up and was surprised I hadn't been bothered by it. With my first pregnancy, she was a scheduled CS, but my water broke 3 days early with her and I barely felt a natural contraction before they started me on pitocin (totally different feeling, by far). I ended up stalling out at 5cm much later in the day and had an emergency CS for her.
I did. I was due 9/14, but cs scheduled for the 8th due to breech baby. I went into labor on 9/4 around 3 am. When we got to the hospital at 4:45 am I was 5 cm and contractions every 2 minutes. They confirmed breech presentation, started the IV and I was in the OR by 6:30. He was born at 7:10 am.
Yes, two days before my scheduled c section! When I went to the hospital they thought I could deliver naturally. So the broke my water, induced me and I labored for 11 hours only to have a c section!

I have had two repeat c/s scheduled and never made it to either. I scheduled this one too but Dr doubts I will make it to 39 weeks again.
They prefer to have it all scheduled and controlled... everything went fine for me though.
