Tonight I am taking a red eye to Atlanta BY MYSELF to go to a friend's wedding. My husband is staying home with the kids, and I am spending 2 glorious days without them. My other friend is doing the same thing, so we are going to have a fun girls weekend. I am going to stay up late and sleep in for as long as I want. I am feeling a bit guilty about how excited I am. Pray for my husband though. He does not have any experience with both girls by himself for more than a few hours at a time.

I have to go away for a weekend occasionally (2-3 nights), and DH always takes the girls to his parents- he's too chicken to deal with them himself

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....Jealous! I'm especially envious that you'll get to go to bed when you want and (more importantly) wake up when you want. I miss that. Have fun!

I did a five day weekend last weekend. I turned 30 on Friday and flew from Miami to New York City, where I met two friends from Canada (who turn 30 in the next two months) and we had a joint birthday celebration. DH stayed home with our five. I woke up on Monday with a horrible head cold, and spent most of our last full day there in bed. I haven't had a personal vacation since my oldest was born (nearly eight years ago). I hope you enjoy your time and have fun sleeping all you want!!

Enjoy it! I'm leaving on Sunday for almost 3 weeks for work, so my fiancé will be home with DD by himself. I'm also excited for being able to catch up on sleep and having time to myself, but I'm anxious about leaving for so long
