Are they worth it? Do they teach basic common sense things or will I actually learn something from it? Are there "normal" couples there? I don't want to be the only couple over the age of 20 taking the class. Hmmm.
We're planning on taking a one day Saturday course. I figure losing 6 hours one Saturday is better then losing several evenings. We'll be over 20, and I really don't care.
I heard that it's a waste of time, but we will still be taking it. Dh has never been around babies so I am hoping it will help settle his nerves a little bit more.
What does age have to do with it? Where are these classes that your worried about "normal" people? IF these are advertised at your vets office I wouldn't go. But in my opinion it all goes out the window the moment your contractions start.
I've been wondering about this, too. But the classes are free at our hospital, so I'm going to take everything they offer. DH has a funky work schedule, though, so I'll probably end up going alone.
Re: Oh, baby care classes
Our hospital offered them for free, so we took all they had to offer with my first baby. We were probably about the youngest there at ages 25 and 27.
Most of the info I found to be common sense, but I thought the CPR class was definitely worth it.
