Quick! What team building events do you like?

Have a brainstorming meeting shortly. New to the corporate world. Looking for some ideas for well received team building activities, about 60 people but we can split up into smaller groups.

Thanks!!!!!!

  • None.  Seriously, it's my worst nightmare.  Helpful, I know lol

  • I was lucky enough to never work at a place that did this but these seem like fun:

BTW - I have the ZOOM book and the activity listed above sounds super fun if challenging.

  • No help here!!

I have never done a team building event that I liked or felt was valuable. I've also never heard of anyone who liked any either.

  • The only team building events I like are the arcade car races, laser tag games and bowling along with drinking held after work at a Dave and Busters type place.

Since this probably isn't an option, I'll go with my most memorable. It was a communication team building broken into teams. One person had to close their eyes while the other ppl explained to the blind how to put a puzzle together.

  • This is the only one that I ever found really interesting outside of fun stuff like drinks, bowling, scavenger hunt

  • I hate teambuilding.

My team went sailing once - they were in tiny four person boats and held races.  I missed it because I was Due the next day.  Thank God, I get horrible seasickness.

  • I liked when we did Two Truths and a Lie at work. I was apparently in the minority, but most of my coworkers could give a crap about rah-rah-ing being a "team" and just wanted to do their jobs and get on with it.
  • I like volunteer activities for team building, like serving a meal at a senior center or do a park cleanup.

I like those too. Our group just spent a morning picking 37,000 lbs (no typo) of squash to donate.

  • Thanks everyone for the ideas!

Most of the activities were already planned and it looks like it will be a day of scavenger hunts, "speed dating," dessert swaps, line dancing, quizzo, an informal speaker or two, meals and drinks....about 1/3 of our people are new so the overall theme is getting to know each other.

Maybe I'm just a horrible person, but I HATE volunteer day.  HATE HATE HATE IT.  Every year they make us go somewhere and paint walls and plant bushes, and you know what, we're absolute cr@p at it!  And no wonder, why do they think a bunch of computer programmers and marketing execs know anything about commercial painting and landscaping? I always feel sorry for the people who have to spend the next year looking at our cr@p paint job just so we can feel good about ourselves.  It would make way more sense for us to donate the money to hire some freaking professionals, who would also probably be happy for the work.

Well, it's kind of hard to mess up picking squash and putting it in a box.
