July 2012 Moms

Well, we have a little peanut!

So, we went to a new pedi and we love her!  Yay for that.  Chloe has always been on the petite side, but holy smokes...she is only in the 13% for weight and 7% (MD said 1%) for height.  Really?!

As some of you might have read in the "how tall are you" thread, H and I are both shorties (5'3" and 5'7"), so I guess we just have a teeny little girl.  The pedi is not concerned because we are both small and she did grow, just not very much.  If her numbers continue at the rate they have, we will be in the negative percentiles soon!

Anyone else have a little peanut?

Re: Well, we have a little peanut!

  • We do. We just had his 15 month appt. He's 20% for head, height and weight. He's at 20.5 lbs and 30.5 in tall.

Funny thing is he was built like a brick house as a infant, now he's just a tiny little ball of energy :)

  • Karsyn is a little peanut too. We go on the 24th for her check up but at her 1 year she only weighed 18lbs. She can still fit in 9 month clothes. Most 12 months are too big. I'm 5'3, H is 6'2 so we are not small. But her pedi considers me petite and she said she is taking after me.

  • Yes, G was 4 lbs at birth and 18 at our 12 month appt. I can't remember the percentiles off hand, but he wasn't even on the charts until about 6 months or so. The dr wasn't worried, as long as he continues growing along his curve.

  • I have a peanut! He's been on the 2nd percentile now for a few months...he was consistently negative for weight from 2 months to 10 months...so frustrating! But he was just shy of 17lbs. at his one-year well visit.  He's in the mid-20% for height and head size, though, always has been.

  • We do too! At her one yr appointment that we finally had about a month ago Mira weighed 17 lbs which put her in the first percentile and she was in the 35% for height. I'm hoping she's gained some weight by her 15 month appointment since I feel she lost some weight when she had strep.

  • A is about 20lbs per our house scale. I'm not too worried because she is a good eater, just super active.

  • Jack is 15th percentile for height and weight usually. But he's got a 50th percentile head, and he currently wears a size 5 shoe.

So he wears size 6-9month pants (cause any bigger can't stay up on his non existent bum) and the only reason his tshirts are as big as they are is to get them over his head!!

My H and I are both about 5'5"... And both H and MIL have big heads relative to their heights (MIL is 4'10.5" and her head circumference is bigger than mine by a lot) so he gets that from them. Then he seems to have my weight (and metabolism... ie eat a heap and gain nothing) and feet (long toes!... I wear a size 9)
  • We have a little peanut as well.  LO was 8% for weight at her 12 month appointment and 20% for height.  She has always been on the smaller side (10-15% for weight) so we were not surprised.  I actually love her small size.  She can still wear some of her 9 month onies and does not outgrown clothes quickly.  Plus it is much easier to carrier her around!
  • Ern is mini too, 19.6 last Thursday and 29ish inches. I don't mind :)

  • LOVE all the teeny tiny stats.  I can't imagine holding a little one that tiny.  I think I would go to pick them up and they would be over my head before I knew it. LOL.  Josh was 33" and 28 lbs 14 oz at his 15 month check up.  That put him in the 97-99% for height and 95-97% for weight.

  • Cooper is a peanut too. Today he is wearing 6-12 m pants and a 3-6 m shirt (i think the shirt is mislabeled or something) He looked so small playing with the kids at the library this morning.
His pedi isn't too concerned, and my back is thankful.

  • Wow! We sure have lots of peanuts! I forgot to mention, we do have a big head (75%), so ay least one of her numbers is lookin good! I do love having a little one, especially the clothes part! We wear 9-12 months in most things, but we can get away with some 6 months pants, which is great on the wallet. Thanks for all of your comments! We should start a "peanut" club with check-ins.:)

  • My lil girl is a peanut! At 15 months she was 28 in and 16 lb 3 oz. I always worry about her but good to hear of other peanuts.
  • My guy was always in the 5-8% but at his 15 month check-up jumped up to the 50th percentile, which was a concern but turned up as nothing.  As long as they are growing consistently and reaching milestones I wouldn't worry!
