This showed up on my Facebook feed and totally rubs me the wrong way. WDYT?

This was from a public photographer page I don't know these people!!!

I agree with Hav on the first part. I don't like the picture, but I don't like a lot of staged photography. I find the sign to be the oddest part.

Definitely wouldn't have a picture like that of my own kids taken buy if someone thinks that's cute or funny for their family, I don't care.

What does the pic say? Can't see it on mobile. I wouldn't do it, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. ::dons accent:: Here in these parts, most boys know how to shoot guns pretty early. Hunting and all that.

The little sign says "don't mess with her!"

I find the sign and the boy's expression the most disturbing thing about the picture.

The picture is kinda weird, especially the sign. If they did the poses as separate shots and no sign, then maybe that'd be cute. But I'd do a cowboy hat before a gun as a prop.

I am absolutely a gun advocate. Most of the issues with this picture aren't even about the gun. However, this is just not a cute picture, nor a cute idea for a picture. I get the whole big brother protects little sister thing, but really? How old are these kids? And the look on that little boys face is borderline psychotic. They are too young to understand what the picture is "supposed" to symbolize, therefore they shouldn't be used as props. The little girl is being stereotyped as a helpless princess in need of rescuing (major blehhh) and the little boy is being stereotyped as some vengeful psychopath. Come on people. I also don't support putting pictures of other people's children up, photography website or not.

His face is a little odd to me. I have seen the whole "don't mess with her" sign thing done. Mostly when there are multiple older brothers and a baby sister. It's a BB gun so I'm really not that offended by it. I'm with the PP that brought up the whole stereotyping thing. That drives me insane. I also understand what you are saying Hav...I think we come from very similar towns.

eh. The first one is not one i would order or ask for but it doesn't rub me the wrong way. My husband is a hunter and I actually like the deer antlers (but I don't care for the shells)

What do you mean? Do they look the same? No. Do they basically serve the same purpose? Yes I believe so. Bullets/Shells look different depending on the gun.

I am not familiar with hunting ammo but I believe shotgun shells are filled with buck shot which is basically pieces of metal. Correct me if I am wrong. We only own handguns and such.

Shotgun shells are filled with powder, wads, and BB's. They are used to mostly hunt birds and for trap/skeet shooting.

Thanks for clarifying ladies! I assumed all guns had a solid metal bullet and that was it. I had no idea there were variations at all. Learn something new every day!

I didn't say that pic was cute. I said I bet you guys would hate it. I thought it was odd. The rest of her pics are really cute though. She has a lot of good family pics.
