1. FTMs what would you have done differently? S+TMs what did you do differently?

2. What have you done that you wouldn't change (specifically this time around but experience with other LO count too)

3. Baby brag: gush and go on and on about your LO. Recent milestones, glimpses of personality, cute little quirks, all of it!

  • 1. I would have CD full time from day one. Her first diaper was cloth but I hesitated on buying what I needed to CD full time right away b/c I had insecurities. Not anymore!
I would have tried to (TMI coming) have more sex while pregnant. Everyone says "sleep while you can" and I think now that they really mean "sleep (with each other) while you can" I don't know about you guys but I can't bank sleep like I can bank sex.
I'd have sold more of my stuff and not gotten as much stuff for her before she got here. Seriously. Most days I look around our apartment and see a bunch of stuff that I no longer use and that she barely or didn't use. Ugh, stuff.

    2. I'm so glad that I had a home birth. It was amazing.
I'm glad we're in a position to enable me to stay at home.
    I happy that we CD.
I'm glad that DD didn't get a paci until 4 months. She could totally take it or leave it now.
I'm glad that BF worked out for us.
I love how much she has changed me as a person. I'm proud that I have allowed motherhood to affect me positively.

    3. DD is 7 months on Monday. She is crawling, pulling up, cruising, sitting, signing for "milk" and "diaper", eating table foods (BLW), picking up objects from the floor, babble-singing, babble-talking and babble pretend reading. She waves and high-5s at strangers and friends. She laughs and smiles a lot. Her favorite game is "get me" (she's made up her own hand sign for it) where we grab each other and blow raspberries. She usually plays it with DH and she gets so excited to see him when he gets home she screams and kicks. She loves to watch other children play and wants to join them so badly. She will scream at them as they run past her at the playground. She loves cats and will try to "get" them but she is terrified of dogs and yelped when one tried to sniff her :( She loves music and singing and likes to try to dance or sing. I am amazed by everything about her.

  • 1. I would put LO down more to play independently, and do more tummy time. She is on track put could be further if I had done it more. Also, I would introduce, and be more consistent with it, so LO would get use to it.

    2. Help my baby develop great sleeping patterns, and overall get to stay home and take care of LO like I have been :)

    3. LO is rolling, sitting up, has two teeth, is so mild tempered, and sleeps amazing the majority of the time. Plus, she is beautiful, fun, and so, so sweet!

  • 1. I also would have started CD sooner.  Now that I "get" CD, I could easily do it from day one with another LO. I would also deliver at a birth center rather than a hospital. I may also have introduced the paci later, but for DD it is so comforting I don't know that we could have held out much longer (I think we made it a month). I would also consider trying to make it work for me to stay at home, or maybe even part time, as I'm starting to wish I could spend my days with DD.

    2. I am glad and proud that I delivered naturally.  I'm glad that I have been determined to BF, and that it has worked well for us.  I'm glad that we chose BLW, I'm glad that we CD. I really like that becoming a mom has taught me a lot about myself, and I'm glad that I'm following my gut and choosing a more natural parenting style.  Like PP, I love that motherhood has changed me for the better.

    3. DD just turned 7 months and is so much fun.  She has been sitting up for over a month, just started crawling, and is overall such a happy baby. She came with us to 2 weddings recently, and at both events we were overwhelmingly told how cute she is and how good of a baby she is.  I was so nervous to take her, but she didn't make a peep during either ceremony, and ended up falling asleep at both receptions and even slept in my arms on the dance floor!  She changes so much every day, and it is so much fun to watch.  See above comment about wishing I could spend my days with her :)

  • 1. I wish I would have gone back to work part time instead of full time, now that I'm back full time I feel obligated to continue that and I would love to have at least one more day home each week with him. I also should have pushed harder to have LO sleep in our room in the beginning, DH was so against it and I caved. I had a tough recovery initially and it would have saved a lot of tears on my part to have LO in our room.

    2. Joining a new mama group in my area was one of the best decisions I made. I am so grateful for the support of these women and can't imagine how I would have survived the early weeks without them. It's so fun to see how we (and our babies) have all changed and grown in just 6 months.

3.My LO is such a jolly fellow, he's so sweet and happy almost all the time. He's crawling all over the place now and will not stop even for diaper changes so we often have a naked baby on the loose.

  • 1. FTM - Start walking/light workout right from the get-go. Thankfully, I had 2 other mommies-to-be (due April 2013) that walked with me every day for 30min starting about 26-28 weeks. I want to be in better shape for #2 and continue my workouts throughout pregnancy.
1a. Having only dad and me in the birthing room. I loved having my mom and sister, but maybe should of had a more personal 1st birth with just daddy and me.

    2. Going Natural. I hope to continue this will all my labors (how ever many that will be)

    3. Saying Ma Ma instead of Da Da first, though I know she isn't equating it to me yet. Sitting up all by herself and rolling over; since she's a bigger baby, she's a little slower with these milestones. Daddy says she's working on her bashful face. When you bounce her on your knees, she'll hum so her voice "jumps" too; both of us crack up at this. Bottom 2 teeth should poke thru any day now and she's been a dream with teething - no real change in attitude; the drools increased :)

  • 1. FTM- I would have CD sooner. It is so easy, saves money and is healthier for baby. I would have liked to have done a maternity shoot. Produced more milk to BF for longer then I got to. Not have got an epidural or pitocin, even though I had to be induced due to a medical condition. Not have found out the sex, the doctors were wrong and told us a girl and then at 32 weeks found out she was really a he. Not allow anyone to visit us in the hospital, I rather have had that time alone with my SO and son.

    2. I'm glad we don't use a binky (pacifier). I don't believe in them.To me they are a bad habit and germ collectors. I'm glad I never have let my son sleep in the bed I hear tons of horror stories from other people. Glad we cloth diaper, put my son in his stroller at a few months old and got rid of the infant car seat, it was a total waste of money because he grew so fast. Glad we started to use the high chair at 4 months old. Glad I baby wear.

    3. 7 months old and is a crazy roller. Loves jumping and eating. Loves bath time. Is sleeping much better at night. I can tell he is just about to start crawling. Wears 12 month clothing, he is a long baby. Loves to go for walks in the stroller. laughs all the time abs loves people. Both his teeth have came through just about all the way.
