Microsoft Office question. What is Home Premium???

My Dads harddrive just died, and he lost all his programs.  Our company used to offer a microsoft at home use program that got you office for $10. Well, they discontinued that service. So now he needs to buy office.   I dont understand how this office premium gives you more (so it seems) but costs less....  Is it because its a ANNUAL fee of $100, rather than a one time fee? Help please

    The Premium is really for if you have multiple devices where you need Office.  It just breaks up the cost so you don't have to fork out a thousand bucks at once.  If he only has one device, I'd go with one of the others that fits his needs better.
