I'm here for my 25 week appointment. I lost 4 lbs on one scale and 2 1/2 on digital?..? Ok is it normal to lose weight during pregnancy. I have only gained 4 lbs so far in this pregnancy. Should I be concerned?
It all kinda depends on your pre-pregnancy weight. I'm overweight pre pregnancy and last pregnancy after they put me on the GD diet, I lost like 5 lbs in a week. Weight kinda fluctuates. If your doctor isn't concerned there's no real reason for you to be.
I actually have a sub my doctor had her baby 2 weeks ago and this doctor was in such a rush I couldn't get a word in. I asked the nurse and she said "I'm not sure??.." Hence my post thank you.
I went in to it overweight 172 now 176. She said she wanted me to gain around 20 lbs. ok last appointment I was at a 6 lb gain. So I thought I was doing good. But now I'm worried is all. I don't want to be withholding the nutrients my baby needs by not gaining the weight. I'm not shoving my face in junk food to gain the weight either I'm trying to do this the healthy way and it kind of pisses me off that info for advice to my bumpies and I get smart ass remarks. Guess what I'm over weight I'm not skinny and rubbing loosing weight in anyone's face. I am concerned. Especially since I never have been able to loose weight in my life so now that I am loosing weight while pregnant has me freaked out that something is wrong or off balance. So please if you don't have anything nice to say about this then don't post rude remarks about my question. Go to another forum January is a nice group your unwanted remarks are not welcome end of rant!
I came in to this pregnancy overweight, a and have lost 10lbs so far, not gaining any weight. My doctor told me that as long as the baby is on track for growth to not worry about it. The baby will take everything it needs from me. Just make sure to eat healthy!
@redheadalisha- With my first pregnancy I went into it more overweight than you, my doctor said (when I asked) to try and keep my gain under 20 lbs. Most of my weight gain happened in the 3rd trimester and honestly, I didn't really have any morning sickness or I probably wouldn't have gained. My doctor just told me that some women's bodies (especially if you're overweight) can take well to pregnancy and they just don't gain much. She said as long as baby was measuring OK on the ultrasounds that you aren't hurting him/her by not gaining enough weight as long as you're still eating healthfully. I'm sure the doctor is keeping an eye on it and would tell you if he/she were concerned.
I just don't like how people feel it's ok to post rude remarks when someone is asking a question. My thing is if someone takes the time to ask a legit question then why not be kind and answer it if you know it that is what this board is for to support us mommies to be especially us FTMs. I think it's rude to post crap on peoples question that has nothing to do with the question and does not help them what so ever. Just nervous about my appointment and stressed out and pissed off that I couldn't talk to my dr. I just did what was natural to me and I went to the bump to ask my fellow moms to be. I did not ask to be mocked or "I warned you guys about this!" WTF seriously how RUDE can someone be. I'm glad it shows all the people who like her rude comment now I know who the rude people are in this group note taken! As far as those few of you who answered my question with out reading my mind thank you for not judging me. Thank you for putting my nerves at ease. My husband got me all scared and so did his mom.

None of this context was in your original post. No one here is a mind reader.
My question was simply should I be concerned that I lost weight at my 25 week appointment. You don't have to be a mind reader to answer that question

Relaxxxx!!! If you've noticed, we get weight posts at LEAST once a day here now. Also, we are not doctors so how can we tell you whether or not you should be concerned? If you're that worried you need to call your doctor's office back and ask.
@Bookshelves is right, how on earth would we have known all this info if your OP was barely three sentences long? And she doesn't have to leave just because you don't like her response...lol

This board has had numerous weight gain/loss posts recently. You did leave out a lot of pertinent information. The particular poster you are referring to is not in any way rude and if you really "understood" this board, you would get that.
That being said, I am so sorry that you are concerned over your weight loss and your doctors and nurses were not helpful at all. I can understand why you would be stressed. Like @ac1259 said as long as the baby is measuring okay on the ultrasounds, I would not be worried. Weight also can fluctuate from day to day depending on a lot of little things.
A simple a little more info needed would have been nice. Ok so every post on here that answer "ask your doctor" should be answered. There are a lot of 2nd time moms and third time moms and 1st time moms on here I am just looking for support and anyone who has went thorough this. My doctor is out for 4 more weeks so it's not easy for me to call the sub dr who spent 5 seconds with me and ask her. Thanks for your kind support. If you read the other kind remarks there have been some kind bumpies wh
End of question I will think twice about ever asking a question about my pregnancy I guess I have to ask the drs office only. I must have mistaken this board or something. I'm new to all of this bump stuff so bear with me. Is there a board that I can go to if I am due in January and I have questions about how everyone else is doing. I'm a nervous wreck and not being able to talk to my dr is not helping either. I've read people post questions about their tests and measurements and lately the glucose test and people have always answered and helped out fellow bumpies. If I'm on the wrong board so be it. And I was not referring to bookshelves to leave I was referring to people who don't even answer your question and mock it marbee was the one who offended me by making fun of my question. I was in tears in the car with my husband and I decided to see if anyone else lost weight (my twin gained weight so everyone thinks there is a problem) and that is the first thing I scrolled down to and it upset me.

Trying to understand your last two posts....
But again, your original post did not mention any particulars. Getting upset over a couple posts is silly. Calling us rude does nothing to further your cause that people should always show support on here. Good grief!
OP, why can't you call your doctors office and speak with a nurse? I rarely ever even talk to my actual doctor if I'm calling to ask a question. They are there to help you, so just call them!
Also, we've had a TON of new people come here lately (seriously at least once/day) and ask about weight gain. All you'd have to do is go through the first two or three pages of this forum to see many of these posts. The reason why you didn't get the response you were hoping for is because this is such a repetitive question and to be honest it gets to be annoying when it's asked multiple times per day. And the gif that MarBee posted was a joke.

Ccip whatever it's so elementary it's not even funny. You can like whoevers comments on my question it's a free world. It doesn't bother me anymore I just had a great friend message me with some encouraging words. For the record my question has been answered I'm not going to waste anymore time on this question. It's turned into a stupid thread by now. U have to take the stupid remarks to get to the genuine ones. Point taken.
The Bump community is more of a tell it like it is, snarky, hilarious, friendly style. There is cussing and adult humor. People get called out when they're being stupid. This isn't really a support group, although when things get serious we can be extremely supportive. If you would like something more tame, there are other websites with pregnancy forums that are less rude.
As far as medical advice, you can't really expect strangers on the internet to be able to give you a lot of useful feedback. There's a huge range of "normal" in pregnancy, and you'll mostly get responses ranging from "that doesn't sound unusual, but if you're concerned you should call your doctor and see what they say" to "omg call your doctor right now."

You seem to calm down pretty quickly after your rants...Glad you got some encouraging words. FTR, we are not rude. Marbee's comment was not directed to you personally. If you are going to stay around on here, I highly recommend not getting so worked up about silly things in the future...
No marbee made a joke about my question and I had no clue why? Now I know it was a question that had been asked a lot. I thought she was just being mean and making fun of it. Still not sure about it all I will have to go and read previous questions. But it rubbed me the wrong way. I had no clue and felt like I was being attacked. Someone messaged me and explained it all to me. I get it now and I'm sorry for getting upset. I think new bumpers need to know to look b4 they ask or else be prepared for what will ensue if you ask a repetitive question.
Re: 25 week dr appointment.
If your doctor/midwife is not concerned, then you should not be concerned.
::deep sigh::
