February 2014 Moms

Hi, my name is Big Foot

Its getting chilly in PA so I have been migrating over to closed toe shoes. I noticed that the few I have tried to wear are not comfortable anymore.. it appears that my feet are growing! My feet did not grow when i was pregnant with DS, sometimes they were swollen and uncomfortable. I'm so sad right now because my feet are cold in my sandals and I'm going to have to buy new shoes for the fall/winter. I know I should be excited at the prospect of buying new shoes but I love the ones I have now plus we are trying not to spend a lot of $$ right now since we are closing on our new house at the end of the month. Anyone else growing bigger feet?

Re: Hi, my name is Big Foot

  • My cute coach flats are tight :-/

I'll probably be buying a new pair of ugg/emu boots to get me through the winter
  • Loading the player...
  • Please let this not happen to me. If my feet grow, it will be virtually impossible to find shoes to wear.

  • mine did with DS, in fact my everything did :( anyways I work long hours on my feet so they would get swollen to the point that i couldnt bend them.
This pregnancy I have been watching my sodium very closely and it has definently helped in the swollen area. I am not sure if its related but so far its helping me out.
  • i didnt realize that feet growing were an option while prego!  :-S its already hard enough finding cute shoes in my size. they cant get bigger! :(

  • Yes.  :(

I made the mistake last week wearing my flats even though they were a little snug. I ran around working with kids all day, and ended up with some awesome blisters all over both of my feet.

  • I have been sticking to the flip flops. I really, REALLY hope my feet don't grow. I've worn a women's 12 wide since high school, and actually have better luck finding shoes that fit in mens sizes. For work shoes, I have 1 black pair and 1 brown pair. That's all i own. Lucky for me, I haven't had to actually dress up for work since week 15 since I've been working from home.

OK, maybe I shouldn't complain about my size 10, 11 in boots feet anymore.

Lol, at least there are still SOME cute shoes available in 10! I think my difficulty in finding shoes that fit has helped contribute to my tomboy preference!

  • I was like Lex and could fit a kid's size 6/7 and a woman's 8. Best years of my life because my tennis shoes were way cheap! After DD my feet GREW two sizes...they weren't swollen or anything. They just grew into a men's 8 1/2 and a women's 9 1/2-10. I hope that they don't get any bigger this time around. I gave all my small tennis shoes to my nephews :(

This is me...12w. I spend too much money to have stylish, comfortable shoes. And then I baby them so they last for years!

  • Size 12 regular here and if my feet get any bigger I'll just be going barefoot because I'm fairly confident they don't make bigger ones. I can only find shoes at Payless :(

That's pretty much the only place I'm able to find any shoes, too.

  • My feet are just getting fat and wide and due to this I can't fit shoes either. I think I'll be in uggs all winter
  • Mine aren't fat but they've grown! I wore my already stretched out normally they are super comfy (haven't worn them since spring!) and I got a HUGE blister! Sad day. Sandals again for me till snow. I think I'll invest in some sweet crocs until Feb ;)

  • Don't hate me, but my feet seem to be exactly the same. I went out wearing 4 inch heels the other day, and it seemed ok. I did start wearing my Uggs around the house though, and then today I wore them out to dinner. In theory I disapprove of that, but bending over to take them off was too much work. I'm really hoping my feet stay the same size, I have way too many shoes to be willing to give them up!
