Natural Birth

Free meditations for birth and/or turning breech baby?

Hi ladies,

I haven't been on in a while.  Had a success NB with my first back in Dec 2011 and am due in 5 weeks with my second.  He is currently breech at 35 weeks and I'm doing exercises and chiropractic care to help him turn, but to no avail.  Will probably try acupuncture in the next couple of weeks.

Anyway, has anyone used any free guided meditations for natural birth or turning breech babies?  I know there are a few home study courses out there like Hypnobirthing, Hypnobabies, etc., but I'd prefer something free since I'm on a budget and already know that I can handle a NB.  My first experience was long and hard, though, and I'm afraid that maybe my subconscious fear of facing that pain again may be keeping this baby from turning.  So I really need to tackle my preparation for another NB as well as get this boy in vertex!!

Thanks for any suggestions!!

  • I don't know about meditations but have you checked out the spinning babies website?  They have a variety of exercises that can help turn baby.  It may be worth it to try them.  I also wanted to say that babies can turn. The couple in my Bradley class had a LO that was breech until 36 weeks (this was their second).  The mom felt horrible cramping and back aches one night.  She thought it might be labor so she tried to take a nap to get some last minute rest.  Things fizzled out and at her next appointment with the MW LO was head down.  She figured that LO must have turned that day she had horrible cramps/back ache.   Have you considered an external version?  They can be painful and do not always work but it may be worth a shot.   GL!

Thanks for the advice and support!  I'm hopeful he will still turn.  I looked at SpinningBabies for exercises to help turn a few weeks ago and have been trying those, but I'll go back and see what other resources they may have.

As for the external version, I'm really on the fence about it.  Seems "unnatural," but I guess it's more natural than a C-section, right?!  I'll probably end up trying that at 37 weeks if he doesn't turn by then. <sigh>
