I'm on CD 5. Taking 5mg of Femara for CD 3-7. This cycle I'm using Ovidrel, which I am excited about. Hoping that it improves our odds. CD 10 u/s is scheduled for Saturday morning. Hoping we can trigger either Saturday or Sunday.

  • Looks like DW and I will be trying one more ICI this month. If it doesn't take, we will be taking a few months off in order to get more aggressive treatment from the acupuncturist. I'll be calling an RE this week and setting up an appointment as a "just in case" if this month doesn't work.

  • Fingers crossed for you, @KLeigh1!!!!!!

I'm on CD 4 and started 150 mg of Clomid yesterday.  I'll be on that for 5 days.  I called my doctor this morning and she scheduled my first ultrasound on the 17th... so that's where we are.  The overall cost of the IUI with my RE was much more than I anticipated so I'm a little worried... DP and I have been stressing about money lately and I'm wondering how she's going to take this news.  I have a feeling she may want to bench it so I may or may not be doing my next IUI this month.  Sigh.

My celebrity crushes: Parker Posey (I know that sounds weird but funny girls make me swoon and I think she's the BEST).  And since I'm a fence sitter, I'll throw out my long-standing infatuation with James Spader.

  • Good morning everyone!  I hope your week is starting out great!

I am on CD8 and currently on my 3rd month of Clomid.  I go in for my follicle check on Thursday and we are planning on doing our 5th at home insemination this weekend.

QOTD- I do love Rachel Maddow took, I am also a huge fan of Pink and Jillian Michaels

I hate infertility. This TTC process sucks. It is miserable and there are both too many and too few options at the same time.

We are coming up on our 1 year anniversary of the TTC process (first RE appointment was mid Oct last year) and all we have to show for it is a lot of infertility diagnosis, several procedures and surgeries, broken hearts, and a lot less money.

QOTW: Catherine Zeta-Jones and Chris Hemsworth. (Yes, I have crushes on hunky male celebrities.)

ETA: This post is obviously a downer. I'm not going to apologize for that. It's where I am after our last BFN on IUIs and with M's body. But I also don't expect others to apologize for their excitement or joy or for not having infertility issues. We will have our time with joy some how some way. It just isn't right now.

ETA: How could I forget Jennifer Lawrence? She feels like she's too young for me to have much of a sexy crush on, but I definitely think she's hilarious, smart, and beautiful.
    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)
    BFP on Dec. 27; Beta 1 Jan 2 (14dp3dt): 665, Beta 2 Jan 4 (16dp3dt): 1859, Beta 3 Jan 6 (18dp3dt): 4449, Beta 4 Jan 10 (22dp3dt): 12,251.

I'm with you on Jennifer Lawrence.  Adorable!  And although Chris Hemsworth isn't really my jam, I love me some Benjamin Bratt.

I'm sorry you and M are having a rough time, healz.  I think you all know we're here to support you but based on my own experiences I feel like there's not much to be done except move through it and take good care of each other.

Good luck to everyone with an IUI this cycle!

  • Today is cycle day 1 for Sarah.  UGH!  We went to be with family for the weekend and despite our home BFN on day 12, we were excited that she was 2 days late thinking maybe we had implanted a little late.  NO Auntie showed her ugly head just in time for the 6 hr. car ride back home!!!  This will be our 6th IUI.  Dr. Walmer said after this one, he wants us to have a "sit down" to talk about where we go from there.  I know the IVF talk is coming and am having a hard time with Sarah.  She is feeling really really down and like she is "broken", despite what I say to her to try to ease that pain.  :(  It breaks my heart to see her hurting.  We did find a new donor on fairfax site today.  Excited about him.  His kid pic is super cute.  Looks a LOT like my youngest nephew.  So hoping there will be some family characteristics.  People already ask Sarah and I if we are sisters when they see us together anyways!  Always funny...since we ARE sorority sisters too.

QOTW:  Alicia Silverstone.......always have thought she was so pretty.  Love her lil pouty smile!

    10 medicated IUI's (3 with injectables).
IUI #1 (medicated) Jan. 2013-BFP!!!!- Beta's didn't double, MTX shot for possible ectopic.
    8 IUI's between April 13-April 14 = BFN
IUI #10 and final before IVF, injectables May 2014- BFP!!!!  TWINS!!!!

7 week ultrasound showed 2 wonderful heartbeats!
8 weeks to the ER with vaginal bleeding while on vacations!  Diagnosed SubChorionic Hemorrhage.  Babies are both great.
9 week ultrasound showed both babies are still great.
  • I am on 12d past IUI.  I spend some days thinking everything is a pregnancy symptom and other days thinking there is no way I could possibly get pregnant from 1 IUI odds are not in my favor.  I know I ovulated because my temps are still staying high.  I go in on Friday for my blood work to see if I am pregnant and if I get a bfn I should be on cycle day one on Saturday.

  • super duper sadness for @manada and @healz - thinking of you both.

AFM, AF came on cue Saturday, so today I started BCPs. Due to various circumstances, our next transfer seems a million miles away on 12/5 - and, my heart already feels like it's hopeless. Perhaps I will get a little more hopeful as the date approaches. Not to be a downer, just hard to believe this try would be any different than the last two. In any case, I do BCPs for the next month, and start Lupron early Nov. Otherwise, I am enjoying some non-TTC time! Not going overboard, but just allowing myself not to think about it all the time. It's sort of freeing, which is sad but ok.

J and I decided if this next shot doesn't work, we are going to take a few months off - take a big ass trip to Italy and likely another stop or two in Europe, and then get the adoption process going. So there it is!

    Hugs to all who need'em.

    Lil'mamaz was born on Aug 21, 2014! She's PERFECT!

  • I am on CD 43 and 18 days post IUI.  HPT are showing negitive but we will still holding out hope since AF still has not shown up.
  • FX for ya, @jspencer8216!  Are you going to do a blood test?
  • No need for a blood test. AF decided to be a royal bitch and show up. I didn't know it would hurt this much. We really thought it could be possible this time around.
  • Oh, that's terrible :( So sorry to hear that.  Yeah, this whole TTC thing is an emotionally exhausting process.
  • I was prepared last month for AF because I didn't ovulate when they did the IUI. This morning when I woke up I was not prepared at all. Now we get to have a break while we save up for more sperm and everything again
  • Were you doing a monitored/medicated cycle?  They offer a packaged deal at MFS for all ultrasounds and meds with IUI... Unless you just went in to get the IUI done?
  • None medicated. They didn't think I needed it. I'm going to talk to the doctor to see what medicate options would work best now
  • I know I am late but here is an update....

The first cycle of IUI was completed on Monday and Tuesday. So we are officially in our TWW. Our pregnancy test is scheduled for the end of the month. Trying to remain positive, but no the chances of it happening the first time around is slim. MJ has been trying to keep me busy in the evenings to keep my mind off of it and I must say it is some what working.

Afterward the IUI, I had some cramping and was very nauseous. I was expecting the cramping because the doctor and the nurse said it was a possibility of slight cramping but I was not prepared for the nauseous. On Tuesday, I asked the doctor if it was normal and he said no. The cramping is normal, but not the nauseous. However, the nurse said it probably was anxiety. Whatever it was, it had me feeling crappy for the entire day. Has anyone else experienced this after an IUI or IVF?
  • Where you taking fertility meds at all? S gets really sick from hers and will get car sick!

    10 medicated IUI's (3 with injectables).

  • @leigh2313 - I had substantial cramping after my IUI, even a couple days after.  But that's because my cervix was tilted and it took some wrangling to get it straightened and it hurt.  Nausea isn't a typical symptom of IUI.  You may have had a bug or had mild food poisoning coinciding with your IUI.  Or it could've been nerves!  It's a big moment since this is the time you could potentially be getting pregnant.  As long as you're feeling fine now I wouldn't worry about it at all :)
  • Although AF hasn't arrived yet I am pretty sure I am out for this month.  My bbt dropped this morning which should also be the first day of my period.  I went in to get my blood work so either AF will arrive or I will get the call to let me know my blood work came back negative.  Try number 2 will be in two weeks!

  • Nope.  We decided to start with a natural cycle.
  • So glad to see you are still here and going for it. I've been away because I became ridiculously sick (hospitalized) during my first trimester with our twin girls, but I have thought of you often and wondered how you and you wife are doing. I know you baby (or babies) are on their way soon and I'm so excited to share in the whole process with you. I'm 27 and a half weeks now with twin girls and feeling MUCH better than in the first trimester:-).
  • That last post was to Ballandchain btw; I'm just now returning and clearly never mastered this message board thing:-)
