Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Keeping feet warm in backpack carrier

We have been hiking in VT using a backpack carrier, and LO's calves and feet have been getting really chilly. We tried using layers yesterday (stretch pants under lined jeans and 2 pairs of socks) but he's still a bit cool when we're done. He's fine up top, btw. It's just his lower legs/feet that get chilly. Perhaps not so coincidentally, those are the parts that dangle out of the body of the carrier.

Any suggestions? I was thinking that we could try to get some boots, but I'm not sure where to find warm boots for a 9 month old. Any other thoughts or ideas are welcome!

  • I'd get some cozy boots. I got a pair for DD from Pediped.

  • Stonz baby boots with the fleece liners!! I use these for my LO and they're amazing.  They are soft too so they won't mess with the development of their little feet.
  • Also, I got a babyparka.ca for my little ones carrier.  It keeps him so warm and it's made for our Canadian winters so if you still plan on carrying your LO maybe check it out.
